Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Very sad. :(
My very favorite episodes of Cheers were the ones in which he appeared. Enjoyed his other roles as well. :rip: |
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Joining Flo and Selma ...

Re: RIP Harry Anderson
No!
At least we got some Night Court closure on 30 Rock. |
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Sad to hear this. Night Court was a great show, and Anderson seemed perpetually youthful.

Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Oh fuck that sucks. I adored Night Court. He was the best :(
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
I have family in Asheville and got to meet him a number of times. A very nice, down to earth guy.
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Yes, shocked to read this... Night Court was a great, and very underrated show, and Harry Anderson was excellent in it. He did indeed seem perpetually younger than his real age, so hard to believe he would pass away so soon. He did seem to keep a pretty low professional profile after NC went off the air, and was apparently not much for the trappings of being a TV celebrity. RIP.

Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Aw, damn. Hadn't heard until I clicked into the forum. 65 is way too young!
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
He was great on Night Court and I also enjoyed him on Dave's World.
Everyone's dropping like flies. |
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
it was so cool and always breezy. too bad.
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
I absolutely loved Night Court. It always made me laugh. Every time. Plus Markie Post.
RIP Harry Anderson :( This past week took Milos Forman, Art Bell, R. Lee Ermey, and now Harry Anderson from us. It's 2016 all over again :( |
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Night Court was an absolute favorite as a kid. Far too young to lose someone like that.

Like Harry Anderson and his character Judge Stone Night Court was pure magic. Damn is right. :( :rip: |
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Sad to read of his passing. I'm guessing "Natural Causes" is probably a heart attack or stroke.
I never watched Night Court religiously back when it aired, but I did see it every now and then and found it funny. |
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
:(
Horrible. |
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Loved Night Court, especially the Ellen Foley eps. Sad to see him go.
He was also in the original It miniseries in a rare serious role. Surprised that John Larroquette outlived him. |
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Never got to see Night Court, but loved all of his appearances on Cheers.
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
What's crazy to me is that I LOVED him on Cheers and I looked at his bio and he was only on it 6 times. And one of those was the punchline on the last season. I would have thought he was on it a dozen times easily. He was so strong and memorable in his performances.
He really made his mark as the stand-up filler on SNL in the early 80s which got him the Cheers gig in the first place. Ironically he performed more on SNL than he did on Cheers. |
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
I'm so sad about this. As someone above said, we already lost Art Bell this week, and now Harry Anderson. Broken hearted
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
In my head canon, "Harry the Hat" was Harry Stone visiting Boston.
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
R.I.P.
Was Night Court a spin-off of Cheers? I thought it would live on in syndication but I don't know if any networks airs the episodes. |

Re: RIP Harry Anderson
This one hurt when I heard about it earlier today. I really hope some stations will be marathon'ing Night Court this week.
RIP Harry. You introduced me to both magic and law shows. Both of which I still enjoy greatly today. |
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Some words from Ken Levine, a writer on Cheers:

Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Shit, very sad to hear. :( I used to love Night Court, and he was great on Cheers and SNL too.
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
I went to his magic show a few years back, it was a good time, and I remember being impressed with how tall he was. I never picked up on his height from his appearance on TV.
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
He was also a pretty good adult Richie in It.
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
I liked him in Night Court.
My all time favorite appearance was one time when he was on Letterman. He explained that there was a forgotten act of working with a hat brim that had no crown. He showed the prop, and it was just a circle of felt. He said that he had learned the act from an old vaudevillian. Then he did a routine for a minute or two, and it was hilarious. |

Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Been watching this this morning - he was so great. The 3 Card Monte stuff around the 10 minute mark is fantastic.
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Used to watch Night Court sorry to hear this.
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
There should be a dvd box set with all the seasons of Night Court.
I don't think all the seasons were released on dvd. |

I don't think all the seasons were released on dvd. Yeah. I think I have season one. I loved Night Court. It was created by the same folks that gave us Barney Miller and it had a very similar tone and style. |
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Night Court was great stuff, though it was the fine ensemble cast more than any one character that made it great.
|
Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Damn Draven, not only am I missing Harry now, but I’m missing old school Letterman. Great video.
Last thing I saw with Harry was an interview about him leaving New Orleans and moving to North Carolina. The interview was sad enough, but he didn’t seem to be in great shape at the time. RIP Harry ... thank you for the memories. |

Re: RIP Harry Anderson
Loved the reaction from the crowd. at the blue shirt guy in front row who couldn't bear to watch this trick. RIP Harry. |
