Re: Fear the Walking Dead (S4E01) -- Season Premiere -- "What's Your Story?" -- 4/15/

I watched Talking Dead and Kirkman/Gimple were very vague on the exact timeline this takes place after the events of season 3.

I've read that the beginning where Morgan leaves Alexandria takes place a few months after the events of the season 8 Walking Dead finale.

and some speculation thinks that season 4 takes place about 2 years after the season 3 Fear Finale.

Enjoy the episode.

I thought Morgan was in Ohio or Iowa and not Texas when he meant John and Althea.Have to watch again latter.
Must be A fast walker.

I need to find the article latter. But they hint the next battle against the the next group of baddies can not be won with guns.Sounds
promising.

Re: Fear the Walking Dead (S4E01) -- Season Premiere -- "What's Your Story?" -- 4/15/

Its a tough call on this episode, the first quarter was too much a walking dead episode with the crossover scenes, I found myself annoyed with the opening ramble by Daniel Sherman / Otto - way too long a "speech" by a new character.

I liked the chemistry between Morgan and the new characters but didn't like the way they introduced the 'old cast' back into the story lines, its just not believable they could pull that move off so far into the apocalypse (trying not to use spoilers or give too much away) .

I enjoyed last season of FTWD more than TWD (which is probably rare) so IDK how this season will go.

I enjoyed it. Hilarious to me that people still do dumb shit like stopping and trying to help people. Come on, it is clearly an ambush people!

Dis-agree.

I thought it was terrific. Probably the best scene of the entire FTWD series to date. And no one was more surprised than me.

Re: Fear the Walking Dead (S4E02) -- "Another Day in the Diamond" -- 4/22/18

Well, I didn't see that coming....the little girl being a spy for that evil band of vultures.

I'm guessing Madison and company either lost the baseball stadium or a significant amount of supplies to that group and that's why they were out and about and ran into Morgan, John and Althea.

I've enjoyed the 1st 2 episodes of this new incarnation of the show.

This writer on Forbes likes the show, but isn't a fan of the multiple timelines.

Re: Fear the Walking Dead (S4E02) -- "Another Day in the Diamond" -- 4/22/18

Thought the little girl was predictable. Expected her to be a spy from the moment she didn't really say much about her family before Madison left. Then seeing her with the walkie shortly after put the nail in the coffin.

I figure the group is still fighting the people who confronted them in this episode. Probably going to be another "All-Out War"-type thing in which Morgan and his new "friends" will end up helping.

Still wish they'd kill off Madison.

So Mr. Vulture-lawn chair guy says the other group did not listen and that this one won't. But all he said is the stadium is not a good base, but offers nothing except maybe they will join with the vultures. This is one of those shows I watch distracted, but did I miss more to their conversation?

Not before she finishes the completely nonsensical project she keeps wasting nails and wood on.

I am guardedly optimistic that because she isn't in the ambush of Morgan scene that she will be dead by the time they catch up to it.

I'm guessing that he meant because they refused to go ahead and give them everything, they destroyed the last group by sabotaging their base.

Big drop off in ratings for the show this week acording to Wiki they had 4.09 million for episode 1 and were down to 3.07 million for episode 2.

I liked the episode until they jumped into the oil tank to help rescue Naomi. Yet Another Dumb Move By Addison YADMBA. Why is it that both shows are plagued by terrible leaders making stupid and unnecessarily risky moves? I really like Kim Dickens but come on man, lets get a clue....

It's Madison, not Addison.

Not sure about the show’s timeline ... but I’m just starting to watch this and the zombie apocalypse occurs after June 22, 2016 - the release date of Finding Dory.

"John Dory" is a type of fish, nothing to do with Finding Nemo/Dory.

Re: Fear the Walking Dead (S4E01) -- Season Premiere -- "What's Your Story?" -- 4/15/

Well I’ll be damned ... didn’t know that! I thought I had found an interesting clue.

I started to say not many people would know that so I’m not buying it, but you are right — somebody named that would know it.

As for the show itself — I thought S1 was similar to the first season of TWD in that it pissed away too many good things by moving too quickly. I quit watching a couple episodes into Season 2 because the characters were insufferable. I liked what we saw with this episode: the characters were somewhat interesting (especially John Dory), the show was well filmed, and the logic was not utterly stupid. That said, it was a small story and nothing really happened to explain the “bigger” universe we are now in.

I’ll watch episode 2 but remain tentative.

Also, as the character started, his last name isn't spelled the same as the fish. His name is John Dorie.

I thought he said it the other away around ... but yes he referenced “the fish”. I thought he was referencing Dory from Finding Nemo/Finding Dory. I presumed the spelling wouldn’t have been well-known until the sequel movie put it in the title.
