Wouldn't surprise me at all.

It's hard not to get the sense that there's a lot of turmoil going on behind the scenes.

I'm sure every higher-up involved thinks they were the reason the show became immensely popular, and everyone else is the reason that has tailed off since.

AMC seems to see the control Marvel has over it's MCU and attempt that, but they complete it more like Fox and the last Fantastic 4.

And still one of the biggest shows on TV.

You have to wonder if any of this is related to Chandler getting the axe.

Probably more likely due to the show getting progressively worse, but I'd like to think poor treatment of your workmates/lack of trust in the showrunners would influence your desire to remain with the 'company.'

You know, I was thinking the same thing. That exit, especially the way it was handled, seemed to leave a foul taste in many people's mouths. Watching the way he was treated, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it convinced some of the longtime cast members that they've had enough.

We have ample evidence that any show lasting more than 4-5 seasons will invariably turn to crap. You'd think networks/show-runners would get the hint. But no, they have to milk that cow until they've completely driven it into the ground. And it this case, even then, it keeps coming back.

The old theory (it was true in the days of three networks and I don't know how true it is now) that a series really didn't start to make a profit and pay off until it hit four-to-five seasons, so there was significantly more money to be made as a show progressed.

So it looks like Shane is going to be in a "Rick Flashback" next season. Wonder who else they will drag in for his final scene...

My bets are be Michael Rooker, Sarah Wayne Callies, Scott Wilson, and possibly David Morrissey. Sure seems like it will essentially be a wrap-up finale for the original Walking Dead.

I think I'd rather quit watching the show now and tell myself it ended with Rick continuing to fight the good fight rather than watch him die at some point next season.

I should have quite watching this garbage long ago. I just kept at it, mainly because the source material is outstanding, all the Negan stuff and post-Negan is great. And I kept saying, you know, at some point the TV people can't keep ruining everything since they escaped the prison, I mean, how could they ruin everything again and again. They never ceased to surprise me.

I can't say for sure, but if I was to guess I think I will probably end up drifting off as well. None of the other characters are interesting enough to keep me around on their own, so the show would have to improve to keep me watching a bunch of characters I could take or leave.

After all this time, shouldn't these walkers be falling apart by now?

Re: The Walking Dead (S8E16) -- Season Finale -- "Wrath" -- 4/15/18

I'm a little surprised nobody has posted about the comicon trailer. My DVR picked up the promo and it actually made the show look decent again. Not sure I will be tuning in for season 9 at all or not, still haven't finished the last season and not feeling an urge to do so now.
Spoiler:
Im guessing the final "whisper" at the end is part of the comic story lines and the walkers have not regained speech? I'm thinking I've heard of the whispers a few times before...

It does make it look good, but I had to LOL at the size of the log two guys were pulling up with a rope, around the 51 second mark.

It does indeed look good. What are the chances they don't fuck it all up again?

Zero.

King & Eugene weren't in the show yet in 2010.
Looks like Eugene lost the mullet.
This looks like it's from next season.

Eugene looks like he's been hitting the weights.

I was posting/thinking the same.

Yeah Eugene stood out,and looks like he has been hitting the weight room and lost some weight.
But in the trailer, they show him real quick a few times and he did not look much different from last season.

Re: The Walking Dead (S8E16) -- Season Finale -- "Wrath" -- 4/15/18

A WD commercial just ran on AMC promoting 10/7 as "Rick Grimes final episode(s)".
I haven't read any spoilers & don't plan on doing so.
How does everyone think Rick's story will end?
He doesn't necessarily have to die. He can always pull a Morgan & decide to just leave the group & start somewhere else new, that way there's always the option of him returning.

I'll never understand these actors & why they decide to leave hit shows. I've never heard of Andrew Lincoln before The Walking Dead. This show has made him a filthy rich star.
He'll probably end up making a couple of shitty movies & eventually decide to return to the show only then it'll probably be too late & have been canceled.
