I still am unclear under what jurisdiction Carrie is offering Dante anything. Or how she is just running around all over The city

Re: Homeland (S7E09) -- "Useful Idiot" -- 4/8/18
Good episode, as the pacing has been much better then the last few seasons as these episodes move fast. The only thing the show can do now is take away Frannie as it's too many times that Carrie has neglected her right in front of people. I love the little jab by her brother-in-law, "I don't want Frannie turning out like you!"

Re: Homeland (S7E09) -- "Useful Idiot" -- 4/8/18
I started to write some satirical comments from a "rooting for the Russians" point of view where Carrie is the antagonist/evil presence in the show and I realized I couldn't figure out how to make it satirical and I lost interest. Apologies.

How did Dante have his phone ? surely the NSA would be downloading it?
So many plot holes, I can barely even, so glad this is episode 9, I thought it was when I was watching. 3 left! |
Re: Homeland (S7E09) -- "Useful Idiot" -- 4/8/18
The last scene with Carrie screaming was beyond ridiculous.

I was sort of hoping that she hit Frannie just for the aftermath when Carrie abandons her in the ambulance to go chase a lead.

I cannot believe how far we have come from season 1 to this ....

rotfl "Useful Idiot"
Love the technical spy term. Carrie is the worst. I'd wish bad things for her, but then I'd feel bad for Frannie. |
Re: Homeland (S7E09) -- "Useful Idiot" -- 4/8/18
It's sort of fun in a 'schadenfreude' sort of way to watch Carrie's character struggle with her mental disorder and being a mom as well as someone who still believes herself to be a spy.
But that isn't what I signed up for when I first started watching this show. As someone pointed out, comparing Season 1, 2 or even 3 with where we are now is such a huge leap in terms of writing quality, story lines and plot development. One wonders what the effect of dropping Brody back into the current storyline might have if his character had somehow managed to survive. He'd probably be in disbelief at how he ever thought he could trust someone like Carrie, let alone have a child with her. I hope they somehow manage to find a way to bring the show closure in the final season that takes us back to its roots in a smart, well thought out manner but the way things are headed, it doesn't seem likely. |
