There was a pool of blood coming out of her when they showed the overhead shot so I doubt she was wearing a bulletproof vest.

That feels like a mistake. I mean how much story is there really left to tell. Hopefully it doesn't turn into another Orphan Black situation where we all remember the great first season.

The author is still pumping out more stories (though the next book is said to be the last), so they'll have stuff to draw from if need be. Whether that translates well to continuing a series past its expiration date...

BBC America announced on Friday that the new season of the spy thriller starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer will premiere two weeks earlier than scheduled. Season 3 will now kick off Apr. 12 at 9 p.m., instead of Apr. 26.

I've just binged S1 and S2 of this show over the last week. Really enjoy it--especially Comer as Villanelle.
The thing I have trouble with is Eve. She's a really, really shitty person. And stupid. She constantly makes bad decisions, and her decisions often put people in danger, and even lead directly to people's deaths. And it's all because of her completely selfish fixation on Villanelle. I started out rooting for her to catch the 'bad guy.' Now Eve is pretty much the bad guy. I know, that journey is part of what makes the show interesting, but there are a couple of problems. The first is why? I can't really say why Eve has acted the way she has. Why was she so susceptible to Villanelle's charms? Eve has thrown away everything for Villanelle. Why? The second problem is, there's no one to root for anymore. (Maybe Kenny. ) We all know Eve isn't dead, but when Villanelle shot her at the end of S2, my reaction wasn't "oh, no!" It was, "well, sure." You play with fire, you get burned. Eve is just too stupid to learn that lesson, and she keeps grabbing the hot end of the poker. It gets kind of frustrating to watch someone repeatedly step on a rake and have it hit them in the face, over and over and over again.
But I do like the show and the other characters, so I look forward to watching S3 whenever it hits Hulu.

Season 3 hasn't quite grabbed me yet. The "shocking" death of the first episode didn't really affect me. Also seems like they're including seemingly random Villanelle kills in each episode, just to put her in more and more outrageous situations. However, I did get a laugh out of Caroline this week:
"Why can't we be sad, and listen to GOOD music?"

The young agent died and Vil learns Eve isn't dead. What a waste of two fucking episodes.

I'd probably quit this show if I wasn't home with loads of free time; I still might. What Comer is doing is still mildly amusing though.

And I like the characterization of Eve. She still has no interest and/or skill in being an international operative, yet it's dragging her back in. She takes stupid risks, and falls for BS. It's a welcome change to the standard fish-out-of-water storyline where an ordinary Joe (or Jane) becomes a total bad-ass by the events of the plot. Eve is still a middle-aged woman desiring of a steady job close to home, and (several) glasses of wine with dinner.

Yea they been doing this last year too , super slow at start. But when Vil and Eve interact sparks fly big time. Can't wait for it to pick up the pace or hell just some actual story.

We just binged the first two seasons. What a wonderful wicked graphic series this is. The two leads are fantastic. It was driving me nuts where I knew Jodie Comer from and finally looked her up and she was in this series which was pretty good as well.

This season has been a little disappointing but that whole bin baby scene was gold. One of my favorite scenes of the whole series so far.

I appreciated that too.
Is this season being shot differently? I don't really understand it, but this season has that artificial almost sped up look that some UK shows have in the US. Is it about framerates? I'm finding it very distracting & don't remember this being a problem with the earlier seasons.

I can appreciate the end of the episode, but , for me, "Are we there, yet?" kept echoing in my mind for most of it.

I saw that tomorrow is the season finale, which I found strange because it feels like nothing has really happened this season.
