Well, not a terrible episode and not a great episode ... some kind of shit in between.
Not a fast-paced episode, but it did serve to move the plot forward (slowly). The Dr. Carson/Gabriel storyline was excruciating.
Why the hell is sweaty rat-face anti-Jesus still alive in Hilltop jail?

It was OK. Yes, I spent a lot of time in my iPhone, but I didn't spend the whole time looking at my iPhone.

So now zombie guts are bad after several seasons of them smearing themselves with it with no issues. How convenient.

Well he did mention that there would need to be exposure via a scratch.
But, yeah, it's not like they would never have had a scratch, previously, with all that smearing, as well as splattering.

I think they are setting up that it is a risk putting the guts on you. I think that is what Father Gabriel is sick from as he may have consumed or had some get in a wound. This show always tries to set up something down the road. Also on Talking Dead I think that they referred to a conversation between Negan and Gabriel about Negan asking him if any of his people got sick or died from the guts move. Although Fear the Walking Dead Nick just lives in it most of the series.

It's from the comics. With bullets scarce, the Saviors were attacking with infected weapons like arrows. One nick and you're infected.

Seems ridiculous that no one was infected previously. Rick and the gang have been beaten many times over, with gashes, scratches, and open wounds - all the while being dry-humped by walkers whose guts have splattered them.

If Eugene is so smart. He must be the dumbest mother fucker when it comes to chicks. We all know he has no balls.
Yeah she is one of Negan wife's.Okay maybe he wants to live.
But make a deal with Negan. And he'll make the bullets faster for some nice tail on the side.

So, random theory inspired by something I heard on a podcast ...
Are we going to discover the junkyard is cover for a military base that Jadis was keeping secret? I’m basing that on the helipad, the solar panels, the “industrial” can of applesauce, and the fact that she was willing to give up their guns so easily. She said it wasn’t originally a junk yard, that all the stuff was just laying out and they made it (which really doesn’t make sense — how would they stack it, what about the mangler, etc.). That concept might work if people came to the base and either things went south or they were turned away, then everything was left laying about.

^^ I think you're right... I also think that Rick's crew will make poor choices based on that info and squander any redeeming value a military base might have.

You don't think that was the intent of the writers? They spent enough time spoon feeding "The Lord will provide" with the Gabriel arc throughout the episode. Then they end on a high note with Siddiq making it to the Hilltop.

The writing is so sloppy, I’ll buy it. The problem is Gabriel’s story arc is “I don’t want to be useless”. He did nothing to facilitate Siddiq arriving at Hilltop, so that doesn’t really work outside of making Gabriel a lazy narrative device.

All clergy are completely useless, anyway.
