Hard Sun (Hulu) -- From the creator of Luther -- Premieres 3/7/18

All 6 episodes of the first season have already aired on the BBC, and will be made available on Hulu on March 7, 2018.

Wikipedia description

Spoiler:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_Sun

Hard Sun is a pre-apocalyptic crime drama set in contemporary London. The protagonists are two mismatched police officers, Charlie Hicks and Elaine Renko who, whilst investigating what appears to be the routine death of a hacker in London, stumble upon proof that due to a mysterious cosmic event, the world is facing certain destruction in five years, a fact the powers-that-be would very much like to keep under wraps. The duo must use every bit of their ingenuity to protect themselves as they are pursued by MI5 operatives who are trying to silence them for good. Their dilemma turns into one of how can they keep their loved ones safe and uphold the law in a world that is running out of time.

All 6 episodes of season 1 now available on Hulu.

The show originally aired on BBC One in the UK earlier this year, but is a co-production with Hulu.

This is from Neil Cross, the creator and EP of Luther.

It has not been renewed for a 2nd season yet. Cross does plan a 5-season arc.

I bailed on this one before even finishing episode one. It felt very dull.

Re: Hard Sun (Hulu) -- From the creator of Luther -- Premieres 3/7/18

I watched all six episodes.

Spoiler:

I really like the basic idea of this show - that the sun is going to destroy the earth in five years.

However, I don't think it's been carried out very well so far.

That being said, I do like the idea of a serial killer who kills good summaritans to see if God will try to stop him. It's too bad his story line only lasted two episodes. At the end of the fourth episode, I had thought he was going to burn down the building and kill everyone in it.

So at the end of the sixth episode we see that even though it's only been a few weeks, people can already see with their naked eyes that something really weird is going on.

The timeline of predicted deaths did show that what was happening would gradually kill people, as opposed to one giant thing happening all at once.
