When three suburban moms get tired of trying to make ends meet, they decide it's time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local supermarket at (toy) gunpoint. From executive producer Jenna Bans ("Scandal") comes this comedy-infused drama that mixes a little "Thelma & Louise" with a bit of "Breaking Bad." The cast includes Retta, Mae Whitman, Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Izzy Stannard and Matthew Lillard. Jenna Bans will write and executive produce. Dean Parisot directs and executive produces the pilot. Jeannine Renshaw also executive produces. "Good Girls" is produced by Universal Television.

Kathleen Rose Perkins from Episodes was in the original Pilot and played Hendricks part. She was not happy being dropped from the tweets I read from her.

sooo did anyone watch this? I gave it about 5 minutes the other day on demand and it didn't seem too good. I think this should have been a 30 min show instead of an hour.... is it worth trying to finish it?

Won't last a full season. I'd pass.

We watched this last night. We're both fans of Whitman and Hendricks, so why not? I thought it was pretty good, but I can see why people bailed on after the first half of that first episode. It really only got going once they actually pulled off the heist. Now it seems future episodes will be as good as the last half now that the three of them are in so deep so many different ways. Seems to be setting up as a more humor driven version of a Fargo type series.

We were watching but my wife didn't care for it so we changed the channel. I do have it on the DVR so I may check out more of it.

Shocked that this is not a 30 minute show as well. Can't seem it lasting. It's not bad and would probably be better as a limited run series.

Renewed for a 2nd season: http://deadline.com/2018/05/good-gir...bc-1202383220/

Season already finished airing. I've seen 5 of the 10 and it's surprisingly quite entertaining. But, I know with so many shows on, it's hard for a show like this to get any attention here.

I kind of randomly watched it just from enjoying Mae and Retta before and ended up really enjoying it. My only problem was the idea of returning thousands of dollars worth of merchandise to stores without any hassle. Don't people get blocked from returning stuff to Best Buy or Amazon if they do it a few times with cheap stuff?

I've been enjoying this one, ridiculous plot points aside.

Yeah that's a big red flag. You're planning to return 20k worth of merchandise for cash? Oh well, just go with it.

I watched ep 4, I think, last night. (Maybe 5).

Definitely some drama in the comedy - like Annie's photo, what each of the women are going through in their families, etc. It seems they just can't get a break - but they make their own problems worse.
I don't know if I'd want to watch 22 episodes, and yes it took an ep or so to get going, but I'll keep with it through season 1. (Yes I know it's probably already over, I'm watching it on the DVR.)

I like how one of the stores they go to is Cloud 9.

I thought the first season was decent and I've been keeping the second season on my DVR. However, based on the (terrible) ratings I doubt this will be hanging around for a third.

Based on my earlier comments, I'm rather surprised; however, the article explains the reason well enough.

And another show with no proper ending and Networks wonder why people stop watching shows.

It's a double-edged sword. You either go in with all your story/seasons planned and hope to stay on air or go in with only one season planned and scramble like hell to come up with new story if your first season is successful, which usually turns out badly.

Re: Good Girls (NBC) -- S: Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, Retta -- Premieres 2/26/18

According to TVLine, everything was all set, -the leads took a pay cut and there would only be eight episodes, -but actor Manny Montana became a problem, and it may have been as much personal as professional.
