It's a shitty zombie show that people are too pot committed to stop watching. That's it.

I could be told what is left of the main characters will die in the finale as a spoiler and it wouldn’t even phase me at this point.

Before the break I remember re-watching the scene in which Carl got bit and didn't see any bite marks or blood on his shirt, but this episode showed it. Has anyone done a screenshot comparison?

I was mystified that Morgan and Carol single handily took out an entire group of Saviors at multiple locations in the Kingdom without anyone noticing.

I think there was a far away shot of him looking down at it, but nothing specific.

I think when you're an actor, you have to kind of oversell the productions your involved with even if some think the quality doesn't deserve that kind of praise. I think it's his professional obligation to make that kind of statement saying this show/his character has impacted lives and such. You can say it's just a fricking weekly Zombie show what's the big deal? But, there's no doubt he will be asked down the line to appear at Cons, autograph signings, Talking Dead and other paid professional appearances associated with this show and wants to look good for all the hardcore fans still passionate about this show.

I was still on the fence about continuing to watch this show the last 20 minutes but when that kid who I don't remember where he came from stabbed the guy with the spear when they were trying to stop Morgan from killing their highest ranking bad guy Savior, I was like come on this is just too stupid.

Re: The Walking Dead (S8E09) -- "Honor" -- 2/25/18

Was curious to see what past TWD actors are up to since leaving the show and was reminded that Andrew Lincoln has basically done nothing but TWD since the show aired. The only thing he's done during that time frame was voicing the Rick Grimes character on an episode of Robot Chicken and the small reprisal of his Love Actually in the short they did last year.

That's rare for an actor who's the lead on a popular TV show. You figure he'd be in a few movies or something - even as secondary characters.

I get that it's in his best self-interest to speak highly of the show, but I think they genuinely think they're making monumental, groundbreaking television. The early monster ratings went to their heads.

Somewhere around when Negan entered the picture, our connection to pretty much every character just fractured. Someone upthread said if they knew every character was dying in the final episode they wouldn't care and I can't disagree. Hell, they could all die in the next episode and honestly no shits would given because they've made it so hard to like these characters. Also, I'm sorry, but Carol and Morgan as killing machines is simply eye rolling stuff.

Concluding with the tremendous moral dilemma they faced when it was down to the last guy - Negan's lieutenant who had already promised to murder the King and stick his head on a pike and tried killing them all only few moments earlier. So after taking out numerous soldiers without pause, when it comes time for Morgan to finish the job on the worst of the entire Savior bunch it's: "Whoa-whoa-whoa, hey Morgan, what are we doing here?"

I still stand by my signature.

I've recently re-re-watched season 1. That was simply amazing. And even though season 2 slowed way down, it was still more enjoyable to me than the later seasons. I'd love to see a fan-edit of the series that heavily edited and reworked the later seasons to create a more enjoyable and better-paced story.

Could that be because he lives in England, has kids who live there, so all his free time is spent with them?

I will admit I got sad they offed Carl, even though he isn't a great character (through no fault of his own). I always get sad when a character from a long running show moves on. Shit I got sad watching criminal minds when Morgan left.

The answer the raise ratings is obviously to have even longer episodes that draw out events. Must be going off the Sons of Anarchy playbook.

Exact same here. Guessing that's not a good sign, TV wise...

I'm not sure if you're aware, but there are a ton of shows and movies made/produced in England. It's like they have their own TV/movie industry there.

The biggest problem with the show is simply the writing. It's just plain terrible. And the directing just makes it that much worse.

But also, the show needs some fresh and interesting characters. It feels like it's been a long time since we got any decent new characters. I still remember when everyone who read the comics kept talking about this Jesus character coming, and I'm wondering if he's as lame in the comics as he is in the show.

I kept seeing stuff posted about Maggie leaving he show soon. Apparently she's signed on to do another show and they might kill her off? Don't know how much truth there is to that, or if it's already been discussed here.

He probably means that Lincoln gets paid well enough from The Walking Dead that he doesn't need to work on any other shows/movies during it's production break even UK productions. And he can spend time all his free time with his family.

The stuff with Lauren Cohan is TBD. She was just cast in a Pilot for potential show for next season. It doesn't mean that job is a lock and she's bailing after this season. The network can always pass on that Pilot.

Look at IMDB for someone like Ellen Pompeo on Grey's Anatomy. Since 2005, she's had essentially no other acting jobs. She does have more episodes to do per year though than TWD. There's probably no financial need for them to do other roles.

well, with good reason. she is now the highest paid person on TV. she just got a massive deal to stay with the show.

To clarify... it's the lowest-rated midseason premiere ever.

And since we're clarifying...

Nevertheless, “The Walking Dead” remained far and above the number one show on TV for the day and easily the top-rated show on cable Sunday. Its closest cable competition was its own after show, “Talking Dead,” which drew a 1.5 rating and 3.6 million viewers. In addition, “The Walking Dead” remains the number one show on television among adults 18-49 for the sixth season in a row.

Agreed. Although, at the same time it also establishes what could be the beginning of many wholesale changes when it comes to the show vs. the comic. But personally, despite many would totally flip their lid, I still hope it Negan conflict ends similar to how it does in the comic.

Kill one main character in every episode until the end of the season and end it there.
