01/12/2018 (09:00PM - 10:00PM) (Friday) : SEASON 2 PREMIERE - Bryan Mills (Clive Standen) fights for his life inside a secret Mexican prison and plans a series of dangerous deals to put him on track for escape to the United States. But plans change when Mills and a young migrant girl (guest star Adriana Santos) are taken by human traffickers. Meanwhile, Christina Hart (Jennifer Beals) leverages her spycraft skills to obtain powerful new software that could locate Mills, and enlists two unlikely allies to aid in her mission to bring Mills home. Also starring Adam Goldberg (Kilroy) and Jessica Camacho (Santana). Also guest starring Peter Outerbridge (James Casey), Matthew Bennett (Gary Martello), David Julian Hirsh (Clayton Bass), Jose Joaquin Perez (Jose) and Nancy Ticotin (Salome).

16 episode 2nd season
Greg Plageman, who was formerly the co-showrunner of Person of Interest, was hired as the new showrunner.
Only Clive Standen and Jennifer Beals are returning from season 1.
Jessica Camacho, Gypsy on The Flash, joins season 2 as a series regular.

I never bothered watching the final ep of Season 1 but considering they nuked most of the cast I am fine with just relying on the previously on Taken intro we will get to get caught up to speed. Jessica Camacho is mostly eye candy for me so hopefully there is more to the shows reboot that gets me to keep watching than just a pretty new face being added to the show.
Obviously, I will be tuning in hoping for the best (it does not need to be good tv, just entertaining...like MacGyver, not great but fun to watch).

I actually thought season one had the makings of a good series. This is NBC believing in the lead actor, not the concept.

Season 1 was just posted to Netflix today. It's 10 episodes.
For those who didn't watch, it's mostly a Mission of the Week series. There is one small ongoing storyline with the death of Bryan's sister and his pursuit of the killer.

It's a complete reboot; Taken: Season two might as well be a new series. I don't think they cast Jennifer Beals to be the romantic female lead but I would rather see her develop a romance with Bryan Mills than the much more obvious younger actress.

Another great action show ! loved the opening episode
they really did clean house with the cast
i like the addition of Adam Goldberg as the tech guy
as is Jessica Camacho who is well underultilised on Flash

I didn't have super high hopes with this "reboot", but damn if this wasn't fun as hell. Great acton and they did trim some of the dead weight.

That was a fun start. Nice little reset.
Mills was badass and I liked seeing Christina work underground to recruit the new members and rescue Mills. I liked the paired down cast with only Mills, Kilroy and Santana along with Christina.
I’m also glad they dropped the girlfriend. She was total dead weight. They need to hold off on Mills getting a love interest until he meets Lenore.

I think the fact that in this first episode of the season they had a mini 'Taken' situation means they are going to try and tie in with the movie a bit more closerly
I'll be surprised if they don't introduce the Sam character from the movies this season

Great start so far to season 2. I'm really liking this tightened up cast.
Fun episode with the crash and the hit squad going after Bryan and the witness.
Not surprised that Tahmoh Penikett's character ended up being the bad guy and he's still out and about. The hit squad being taken out at the end was an interesting end.
I did notice a pretty glaring continuity error. In the beginning when Mills was in Christina's office, he was clean shaven. Next scene when he boarded the plane with the witness, he had a full beard. You don't grow full beards overnight. Must have been an oversight in editing.

Watched the second episode yesterday and I am now over my knee jerk reaction that the second season of Taken would be a dud when news came out that they nuked most of the original cast members (I was still a bit nervous despite enjoying the first episode). The tech/hacker guy and weapons chick are awesome and with this show it is turning out that as far as the size of the cast is concerned less is more.

While I didn't like this as much as premiere, it was still good. I think I'm over any concerns I had with them switching directions of the show.

Holy shit. This is fucking great. One man wrecking crew Bryan Mills!

They really turned this show around. Bryan Mills one man assault was ridiculously badass. He broke necks and shot people dead with no mercy.
Agree about the story, it was kinda meh, but Bryan's fight and action sequences were awesome and made up for it.
I could definitely see Greg Plageman (the showrunner) using some influence from his time on Person of Interest in re-inventing Mills. He is kind of like Reese in a way.

Maybe it's just me, but I think this show is a lot worse this year than last. There used to be the concept of the new guy trying to fit into the team, which I found interesting. Now it's just two in the field, the leader, and the computer whiz who solves all the technical problems and dumbs down the plot. This could be NCIS.

Just got caught up with the last 2 weeks.
The episode from 2 weeks ago where Mills and Santana went to North Korea to rescue that scientist was pretty good.
Last week's episode that focused mostly on Christina's past and her ex-lover/spy was meh. Although you had some really sexy shots of her in the black bra.
I read this is unlikely to come back for a 3rd season. But who knows, you never know these days with TV. But, I'll continue to finish out the remaining 8 episodes.
So far this season through 8 episodes it's a mostly mission of the week plot with Mills and company rescuing those who were "Taken"

I've been enjoying this. The cool international settings (even if they aren't really filmed international), good action.
Cast chemistry is good
It is hard for an old school action series to survive, i hope it has another few seasons.
