Considering what we got last week, the title might be an anagram.

The final act of the season 10 finale apparently never happened. It was all retconned. it was apparently a vision.
Scully is having visions/headaches and passed out. She was taken to the hospital afterwards.
Someone tried to kill Scully at the hospital and Mulder saved her life
Cigarette smoking Man is apparently the father of Scully's son. He apparently impregnated her while she was unconscious in an episode from the original run.
CSM rambles about some convoluted alien conspiracy to wipe out the human race and he manages to get Skinner to play along.
Apparently the serial elements are going to lightly carry over into the procedural episodes.

Gillian Anderson Confirms 'The X-Files' Exit, Rules Out Any Future Return
Shane Harvey/FOX
The actress told reporters Wednesday at a set visit as part of TCA that she's done with the franchise after 11 seasons.
Gillian Anderson is finished with The X-Files, she confirmed to reporters on Wednesday during a panel organized as part of the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. The actress said that she originally only intended to sign on for the six-episode revival in 2017.
"It's time for me to hang up Scully's hat. It just is," she told reporters Wednesday, ruling out any potential return in the future. "I'm finished and that's the end of that."
"I arrived at the decision before we did the previous six, but I was really curious. I felt that the previous six was going to be it. It was dipping our toe back in again ... and getting to play these wonderful characters again," she said. "I think as [series creator] Chris [Carter] has said himself that short stack of episodes felt like we were leaning how to walk again and that this season of 10 feels like the pace is up and we're running."
She added, "I wouldn't necessarily have been happy if those six were how we said goodbye. ... There's lots of things that I want to do in my life and in my career and it's been an extraordinary opportunity and extraordinary character and I am hugely grateful."
For his part, costar David Duchovny told reporters he would be "good either way" if the show continued without Anderson or if it ended after the current season.
"I've tried to say goodbye to Fox Mulder many times and I failed. And they all went and did the show without me, so how do you like that? I'm feeling pretty pissed off, now that I remember," Duchovny joked.
The X-Files ran on Fox from 1993 to 2002, and returned to Fox for a six-episode tenth season in 2017, billed as a limited event.
“I’ve said from the beginning this is it for me," the actress told TV Guide Magazine ahead of the 11th season premiere. She'd told fans at New York Comic-Con last year that she was finished, but reiterated her statement to the magazine. "I was a bit surprised by people’s [shocked] reaction to my announcement … because my understanding was that this was a single season."

May as well just take the show out back and snuff it out after this season. I mean, it could have been done so after how last season ended... WOOF, but what's the point without Scully. We already went this route without Mulder and it wasn't good.

Duchovny looks a lot like Gary Shandling as he gets older.

So disappointed. Most reviews said the show dramatically improved after the first episode.
Yes, this was an improvement but it was almost impossible not to get better after the terrible premiere.
I always enjoy seeing Mulder and Scully on screen but I can’t understand why these episodes are so bad.
The second movie was better than anything from last season or this season (so far) and the second film was pretty mediocre. But it at least felt the X-Files.

I mean, at least last season the stand alone were good. It's a terrible shame what they did with the lone gunmen.

Also, we still have another Darin Morgan ep to look forward too, and this time it’s actually a new script as opposed to last time when it was a barely-rewritten version of an unproduced Night Stalker script that had been making the rounds online for over a decade.

I actually enjoyed this ep but I don’t think the universally-hated My Struggle eps are bad so maybe I’m mentally retarded. I don’t think this second episode is any worse than Founder’s Mutation which was the first standalone last time.

Definitely better than last. Not really a monster of the week, but an evil corporation promising eternal life in a computer. It was nice seeing Langly again. There was some carryover from last week though.
Not perfect, but more entertaining than last weeks mess.
Looks like next week is a more traditional monster of the week episode.
I liked some of the humor, especially Scully referring to Mulder at the young FBI agent as sick as Hannibal Lecter. A little callback?
That ending was kinda creepy.

Yeah, it was good episode -- liked it a lot. I saw that Barbara Hershey was in it and looked her up and she's done 3 episodes of X-Files (the new seasons) and will return for My Struggle III.
I also realized that I never did watch the Lone Gunman spinoff series -- didn't know they were all dead.

My Struggle III was last week's episode.
The Lone Gunmen died on the original X-Files series, not on their spinoff.

My Struggle III was the season premiere last week. And yes she was in that episode.
IMDB says she's next appearing in the finale (S11E10) Assuming it's My Struggle IV.

The Lone Gunmen recieved their own series, and it ran in the spring of 2001, concurrent with the last half of X-Files 8th season. It got thirteen or fourteen episodes before it was cancelled.
The characters were then killed off in the ninth season of The X-Files. Hopefully not out of spite for not being able to carry their own series.

I liked it. Thought the ending was creepy. The main problem that I had with it was that it felt so incredibly 90's. The plot, tone everything felt like something that would be tailor made for 90's Cyberpunk stories. Is it me though or is Duchovny and Anderson basically just sleepwalking through this? Feels like they both wanted one more great X-Files paycheck before saying the hell with this.
