It’s Wednesday... the semester is over, grades are in, and I’ve got nothing to do.
This is the first episode this season I’m watching live.
I’m holding on for Ben.
Which means he’ll lose.

Here's an interesting article about the "casting" they do for the finale audience.

In short:
Hopefully Probst doesn't spend too much time talking to audience members.

In short:
The interviews Jeff Probst does on Wednesday’s finale won’t be spontaneous conversations with audience members, but with carefully cast people—fans who meet very specific criteria.
That criteria is specific, curious, and frustrating, as the show is defining very narrow types of people and presenting them to the public as fans of the final five.
For example:
Fans of the four male finalists can be either male or female.
Fans of Chrissy cannot be men nor childless women; they must be “moms between 40 and 50.”
“Super fans” of the male finalists may not be restricted by sex, but they are being cast by age. Devon’s fans have to be either kids or ages 16 to 35. Fans of Mike, however, can be 18 to 45.

I like the new format for winning the final immunity challenge, and I am glad they are trying it again next season.

Here's my problem with Ben winning. After final 7 he didn't have a single alliance again in the game, and he didn't win a single challenge. I have never thought being good at Survivor Scavenger Hunt should be the sole reason you should win. And truthfully in the past it has only been good enough to get you to final four, but now, hey, you don't even have to have an alliance or win the final four immunity to win.
Of course, he's going to win b/c of his story, but for me this isn't about his real life story. It's about playing Survivor and finding a bunch of immunity idols and the show inventing a new twist to get you in the final three just isn't good enough for me.

Weird season.
I don't think they'll ever go back but the endless twists and idols just makes chaos. I assume it is done to avoid a season where a tight alliance just dominates. The problem is it changes the skill and social part of the game and makes luck a significant factor.
Ryan was useless. The edit early on made him seem like a key guy, but in hindsight that seemed more like a favorable edit and Probst trying to build up the 'Super fan' of the season.

Well considering that they literally buried that last idol and clue next to where Ben slept I don't know how much luck was involved. "Here Ben. Here's another idol"

This season was like an NBA game where it was all worthless and barely watchable until the last few minutes. And those last few minutes were strictly because production realized they had a snoozefest on their hands so they literally changed the rules on top of planting idols at the feet of the only root-able person. I mean, I'm glad Ben won, only likable one plus losing a million dollars because of an upside down u .. how many times a day would you lament that for the rest of your life. Ryan did nothing and Chrissy was an entitled bitch who thought people were too stupid to realize she was only feigning friendship to garner votes; she was so transparent in her phoniness.

Fire making challenges are hardly anything more than a glorified game of chance that one of your sparks just happens to hit your husk right and light something. There's absolutely no skill in it, it's literally two people slashing haphazardly until one gets lucky that their spark landed better, first. It's just dumb. Having a f3 spot decided like that feels like a jump the shark moment, reminds me of when Mark Cuban had a reality show and the first elimination was decided by a game of Jenga. That was my 1st and last episode of that show

One other thing I found funny was Ryan taking pride in never being in danger - which towards the second half of the show was about him pretty much being a non threat and folks knowing he had zero chance to win challenges. And Ben not bothering to blindside him because he was one less threat in immunity challenges He earned his spot in the final 3 because Crissy knew he had no prayer of making a fire and beating Ben and was a nonfactor at the final tribal.

Did the audience girl who wrote down her guess for the winner ever get acknowledge again? Weird.

That last secret advantage turned out to be more of an advantage for Ben than Chrissy. Funny how that worked out...

The jury was 8 people this time. What would have happened if the votes had been split evenly between 2 contestants?

Does anyone have a screenshot of the final immunity challenge win by Chrissy? Someone on another board posted that one of the "S" was flipped in Chrissy's puzzle.
