HISTORY's new drama series "Knightfall," makes its series debut on Wednesday, December 6 at 10 PM ET/PT. From A+E Studios in association with Jeremy Renner's The Combine and Midnight Radio, the ten episode season takes viewers inside the medieval politics and warfare of the Knights Templar, the most powerful, wealthy and mysterious military order of the Middle Ages who were entrusted with protecting Christianity's most precious relics.

"Knightfall" begins after the fall of the city of Acre, the Templar's last stronghold in the Holy Land, where the Holy Grail is lost. Years later, a clue emerges suggesting the whereabouts of the Grail and sends the Templars, led by the noble, courageous and headstrong Templar Knight Landry (Tom Cullen, "Downton Abbey," "Gunpowder"), on a life or death mission to find the lost Cup of Christ. From their battles in the Holy Land, to their clash with the King of France, to the dark events leading to the demise of the Templar Order on Friday the 13th, 1307 - a date which became synonymous with bad luck - the story of the Knights Templar has never been fully told until now. Focusing on themes such as belief, sacrifice, politics, love, power and revenge - "Knightfall" goes deep into the clandestine world of this legendary brotherhood of warrior monks to find out who these knights were, how they lived, and what they died believing. In addition to Cullen, the drama series also stars Pádraic Delaney (The Wind That Shakes the Barley, "The Tudors") as Gawain, once the greatest swordsman of the Templar Order who was crippled at Acre, and Simon Merrells ("Spartacus", "Dominion") as Tancrede, a steadfast, brave, and resolute knight who venerates his Templar vows above all else.

10 episode 1st season

Probably not going to be a huge draw here. Period dramas like this rarely get much attention.

Looking forward to it

I watched it this morning and thought it was ok. Cullen never showed much personality on Downton and he continued that trend here.

Looking forward to Jim Carter showing up, though it will be weird seeing Carson as the Pope.

Meh... I didn't love it. Nothing leaps out at me (except the awful CGI in the battle scenes). It just didn't grab me. And felt kinda cheap, too... as if it was the History version of a SyFy movie. I'll give the second episode a shot, though.

I waited to watch the first two episodes. The first especially was not as good as I'd hoped. The siege of Acre was more abbreviated then I'd have liked, the plot with the peasant farmer was basic and predictable, and a couple of actions such as Godfrey's seemed like they could have been better thought out.

Still, I think that the 2nd episode was a bit better and showed some promising possibilities for the future. I definitely liked Pope Boniface VIII, the character of the king's brother and the hint of future plot lines there. Since I love the period then I'll continue with it.

I got about 20 minutes in and deleted the first and second episode. this show needs the MST3K treatment to make it watchable.

I have no idea what people were looking for, I thought the first two episodes were fairly riveting. I have some prior familiarity with Knights Templar history, maybe that helps.

I watched eps 2-4 this afternoon. I think the story with the French royals is more entertaining than the Templars so far. Not sure if that bodes well.

I'm enjoying it. I love dramas from this time period, though.

The princess went from smitten to out for blood in a nanosecond.

Something about the writing of this show made me zone out. Like everything felt disjointed with scenes cut out from episodes, hard to explain.

Damn, I thought this was a new show with Hamill. Not sure I want to binge a Hamill-less season one.

I thought season 1 was ok, it was good enough to watch season 2. Not too crazy about Hamill joining the cast.

I still need to catch up with the last few episodes of season one before I start this new season.

I’m sort of interested because of Hamill, but this really isn’t the type of show I’m normally into.

I could not get past the first episode of season 1, depending on chatter I may try to pick up s2 if Hamill is any good in this. The preview I saw with him looked good.
