TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28

THE FLASH

"Crisis on Earth-X, Part 3" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

THE EPIC FOUR-WAY CROSSOVER WITH "ARROW," "SUPERGIRL," "THE FLASH" AND "DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW" CONTINUES - Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris's (Candice Patton) wedding brings the gang together, but things go awry when villains from Earth-X attack the ceremony. All of the superheroes band together with help from their super friends like Citizen Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), The Ray (guest star Russell Tovey), Felicity Smoak (guest star Emily Bett Rickards), Iris West and Alex Danvers (guest star Chyler Leigh) to take on their most formidable villains yet. Earth's mightiest heroes - Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell), Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist), The Flash (Grant Gustin) and White Canary (guest star Caity Lotz) - lead their teams into battle to save the world. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim and teleplay by Todd Helbing (#408). Original airdate 11/28/2017.

In case you're completely out of the loop and don't watch Supergirl or Arrow, you need to watch Part 1 and 2 (Supergirl and Arrow) from Monday night. This is a 4-part serialized crossover.

It ended on a cliffhanger last night on Arrow.

Probably the weakest of the 3 so far.

Oh shit, that ending!! I can't believe they did that.

That was probably more bullets flying and bodies actually getting than on this season of The Walking Dead.

Awesome seeing Red Tornado again even though it's the Earth X version. He hasn't been seen since season 1 of Supergirl.

 at "Leo" Snart and he's gay on Earth-X. Who is Snart's boyfriend supposed to be? Is he a DC character? The costume looked familiar.

 at Winn as some badass General on Earth X.

The Ray. Quality Comics character from the 40s. DC bought him in the 50s. He was a member of the Freedom Fighters on Earth X in the 70s. They revamped him in the 90s.

He's got an animated show coming up on CW Seed.

Another awesome episode.

-Loved seeing Earth X. The concentration camp scene was interesting and it reminded me of something from the Wolfenstein games.

-Paul Blackthorne was great as an evil Nazi leader.

-Nice to see Red Tornado again.

-Nice to see Snart again. Loved that he was wearing the classic Captain Cold glasses and is the opposite of Earth 1 Snart. With Miller saying that he's done with the show, I wonder if making Snart gay was a carrot they dangled to get him back one more time?

-Loved seeing Winn being Earth X's John Connor.

-Hated hearing Alex whine about Maggie.

-It was cool to see The Ray but I thought his introduction and writing was terrible. So he's not only from their earth, but also a super hero, just happens to be someone that Jax randomly asks what his symbol meant, and is in a relationship with someone who rescues him and is also a hero. Felt forced.

-If they were going to bring in a gay male character, I kind of wish they used Alan Scott even though I doubt they would be allowed too.

-I enjoyed Felicity and Iris sneaking around.

-Finally got to see some good shots of Melissa Benoist's feet which are pretty cute.

Overall I really loved this episode. Haven't watched part 4 yet but can't wait. I'd be interested to see what each episode was budgeted at. I'd bet each episode had at least 2.5-3 million.

The Flash's co-showrunner Andrew Kreisberg was officially fired today because of the sexual harassment allegations.

Kresiberg helped co-write this Crisis on Earth-X arc.

This Red Tornado looked awesome, I hope they use this CGI whenever the character returns again.

I thought the whole 4 episode crossover was great. Lots of action and fun. That being said it did feel a bit forced when Jax asked the Ray what the symbol meant. "I loved the wrong person", then camera cuts to Alex, then to Maggie.

Knew that gay kiss was coming when they put those two actors together on screen. Stein getting killed would have been a shocker if I hadn't seen that he was leaving the show. Really hate when they announce those things and people post them in these threads. Just as much of an eventual spoiler as other things people put in spoiler tags.

I get what you're saying, but I probably would've thought it was a fake-out if I didn't know the actor was leaving the show.

And it doesn't always mean death. Supergirl had an actor leave the show and the character they played just left. They didn't die.

It wouldn't surprise me if Stein returns in guest appearances. Despite Captain Cold's death, he's returned in several different episodes using time travel or doppelganger versions.

Even though I knew Garber wanted to leave the show I was still shocked that they "killed" him though. I was fully expecting him to simply go back home by season's end in some sappy overly long tearfest..

Re: The Flash (S4E08) -- "Crisis on Earth-X, Part 3" -- 11/28/17

His death IMO did come at a surprise. I was fully expecting them to retire the character and give Stein a big and warm sendoff.

So, I don't think the character death was fully spoiled because of the news came out that Garber was leaving.

In this episode specifically, having him get sprayed with bullets while doing a heroic thing did add a shock value to it.

It was a surprise to me that they killed him off but it was the better storytelling option.

Not knowing "how" the character leaves doesn't make it any less of a spoiler.
