Every time I hear Madani’s mom talking, I expect her to say “What an excellent day for an exorcism”.

In any event -- just finished watching this and it was WAAAAAY better than I thought it was going to be. I thought that Frank going after the government was going to be a hinderance as opposed to dumbass wise guys, but it worked out amazingly well.

- and sure enough, that's who we will get for season 2.
Loved it.

I hate how Netflix won't let you download episodes of this yet, would have came in handy on a cross country flight yesterday.
I'm 4 episodes in, i'm enjoying it although the Micro stuff dragged a little bit. Seems like one of those things where Micro should/could have easily admitted what he was planning and what happened with him.

I don't think you can DL any of the Marvel shows on Netflix. At least you couldn't in the past.

Just watched episode 9.
NYPD must have the loudest police sirens in the world because it took them about 5 minutes to get to the house from when you first heard them

While I liked it as a whole, I didn't love it.
The "punishing" was good when it was going on... and you're right TopOpus, some of it was really uncomfortable...
Loved how the focus was around Frank but not really directly on him. Didn't mind the pace for the most part.
Just a couple of gripes and comments:
Anyways, which series are we getting next? Jessica Jones Season 2? Daredevil Season 3?

Daniel Webber has a unique presence and I could see him getting some big roles.

I found this on EW: http://ew.com/tv/2017/11/21/the-puni...flix-universe/
Some decent descriptions in that article.

Just finished it. Liked it, one of the better marvel shows. Yeah, could've used more "punishing", but what was there was pretty solid. I'd prefer the next season to be more episodic and less serialized.

The Anvil team is totally incompetent and non-threatening. Would have felt more dangerous if they were all like Frank, his old team, or even the female police officer. They seemed like no more of a threat than the faceless NYPD officers. There was nothing elite about them.

This was my favorite of the Marvel shows on Netflix, followed by Jessica Jones in second place.
I was never able to finish the first season of Daredevil, so I might just skip ahead to the second season so I can get The Punisher backstory.

I thought the Daredevil-Punisher stuff was more depressing and brutal than everything in Punisher season one.

I didn't much care for DD's first season, but I thought it's second season was easily the best of all Nextflix Marvel seasons.

Not enough Punishing, but otherwise enjoyable for the most part.
Overall I'd rank it higher than DD S1 and LC S1, but below the rest by a very tiny margin.

Some really good combat in this one.
Frank gets shot, stabbed, and beat so much I felt bad for him after awhile.
Jigsaw's disfigurement scene in Punisher War Zone creeped me out (in the glass recycling machine). This one was still pretty good. Sliding his face down the glass was brutal.
Nobody with special powers or sci-fi tech. Was there even a mention of the MCU in this one? Surprised by that.

It has been long time since I have read Punisher comic book. I couldn't even remember if Jigsaw was Frank's best friend - like during Mike Zeck's limited series...

Just finished. Pretty good overall.
A little slow in the middle though. I would have liked to see more punishing instead of dinner with Frank and Micro.
And too little time in the skull vest. Felt like I was watching Lundgren again.
But the last 3-4 eps are truly brutal.
Bring on Jigsaw for season 2.

Thankfully it gained more steam towards the end, however, the Jigsaw thing, you could see coming a mile away. Almost Brawl in Cell Block 99 brutality. I get the build up as he was laying low, but it never felt like a Punisher series until he put the skull vest on.
Seems like Frank's got some of Logan's healing factor.
