THE FLASH

"Luck Be a Lady" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, LV) (HDTV)

DC COMICS' CHARACTER HAZARD COMES TO PLAY IN CENTRAL CITY - Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team are hit by a string of bad luck and realize it is the handiwork of a new meta, Becky (guest star Sugar-Lyn Beard) nicknamed Hazard, who has the ability to give others bad luck, while cashing in the benefits for herself. Meanwhile, Harry Wells (Tom Cavanagh) returns to Earth-1 to give Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) a message from Jesse. Armen V. Kevorkian directed the episode written by Sam Chalsen & Judalina Neira (#403). Original airdate 10/24/2017.

Losing Wally was a good idea, and I'm glad Harry is back b/c he is a value add character on a show that frequently has a lot of value detract characters. Now if Iris and Joe go back to their careers then maybe we can actually get back to the real team Flash.

Thought this was a mostly a fun episode, but there is no way Sugar Lyn Beard can pass for 24.

I thought it was a fun episode but didn't take advantage of the concept like the similar episode of Supernatural did.

 At the Flash handcuffing himself.

I also  when Wally randomly showed up and said "You all forgot I was here" as I seriously forgot that he was even in this episode.

Nice to see Harry back, the show could use more of him and less of Iris. Not a fan of the Joe being a Daddy plot.

So glad to have that version of Wells back and hopefully losing Wally for good short of a guest spot here and there. Maybe people will get their wish and he'll switch over to one of the other CW DC shows.

I had never seen Sugar-Lyn Beard before and I thought she was great. But that was probably just a one-off role.

But sadly it seems I may like this season less and less going forward unless this arc with The Thinker starts getting better soon. So far it's been completely boring and ridiculous.

Is Wally heading to the DC streaming service Teen Titan show? Didn't feel like searching for that info.

I kind of liked it. It was a fun, light and quirky episode. Sugar Lyn Beard was a different kind of villain.

I'm also glad that this version of Wells is back.

Wally "leaving" I think is fine. He can pop up later in the season as needed. But, Kid Flash isn't really a needed component of the team right now. He just feels like an extraneous hero. Iris and Barry's wedding is supposed to happen in November for the crossover, so I wonder if Wally will come back for that.

I did  at Joe's reaction to the pregnancy announcement.

Really fun episode  Very enjoyable and a strong Silver Age Flash vibe. Sugar-Lyn Beard is freakin' adorably sexy as hell.

I'm very much liking the way this season is heading.

I liked it.

I'd love them to see them try to prosecute a criminal like Hazard. If she was smart she would never have walked into the bank and stole money. She should have just played the lottery or something. There would be no way to prove she was doing anything wrong.

Not that I have heard. Producer Greg Berlanti isn't really connected to that Teen Titans show. There has been no sign that show will crossover with his CW shows.

I thought it was a weird send-off for Wally, but I guess they had to squeeze it in while also handling the case of the week.

This was a fun episode. Was this the first time we've seen Barry slip on glass balls as he runs?

I'm not a huge fan of the potential arc with Joe having a baby. That just screams future hostage potential to hold against the Flash.

Why does every meta turn out to be bad? Not one of the 12 on the bus would want to be a hero? I guess you have to be a Star Lab's employee to be a "good guy" with powers.

This one wasn't really bad. The Star Team illegally surveilled her, told her to turn herself in or else, then let an explosion occur where they weren't sure about the repercussions so they could imprison her without a trial. And of course this wouldn't have been an issue if they didn't open the speed force, which wouldn't have been an issue if they kept that artifact secure, which wouldn't have been an issue if Barry didn't save his mom, which wouldn't have been an issue if he stopped either Zoom or Reverse Flash at 1st opportunity, now my memory is hazy. So are the Star Labs gang really good guys, or just the ones with the in with the police.

She walked into a bank vault and walked off with the money.

In the comics HAZARD is the Granddaughter of JSA Villain, The Gambler.
1st Appearance INFINITY INC. #34. Created by Roy Thomas.

Good-Fun episode. Although I found Beard's voice a bit annoying.

How does everyone in this thread seem to know who this woman is? I had to look up her filmography and didn't recognize anything she's been in.

If I found a bag of money at an establishment I frequent and I picked it up and left with it and no one said anything I would assume it was ok.

If you think breaking the law is ok just as long as someone isn't actively trying to stop you, then we have a very different set of morals.

You would be wrong. Finders Keepers isn’t the law.

IMDB is a wonderful thing. She was adorable. But yeah, 36 is hard to pass for 24, but then again I'm watching The Deuce where Margarita Levieva who is 37 is passing for 19.

Well, if ordinary people were suddenly gifted with superpowers, human nature being what it is would lead to more of them becoming criminals. A few would become heroes, more would become criminals or live off their powers' benefits.

Characters like the Flash have unimaginable power by normal human standards. In our real world, it's hard to believe they would even keep their regular life intact. If you could travel through time, would you keep your 9-to-5 job? Barry could make millions simply being an instant courier service, which was explored briefly in the comics with Wally.

Even a morally neutral Superman would be the biggest threat to the world with his powers.

I always think of this GIF when people say something like that.

Doctor Manhattan from the Watchman comic. He was a man turned into an all powerful god like being after an scientific accident. In a world with costume vigilantes, he is the only one with super powers.

I was referring to the super-smart guy in the chair we saw during the episode.

It's "Davoe","The Thinker" (and that's all I know about him)...

This was a fun, goofy episode. I LOL'd at the Captain Sully reference.
