Godless (Netflix) EP: Soderbergh, Frank; S: Dockery, O'Connell, Daniels
Netflix is prepping Godless, a limited period drama series from the Out of Sight duo of Steven Soderbergh and Scott Frank.
Written, directed and executive produced by Frank, Godless is a Western set in an 1800s New Mexico mining town. The project, which is currently casting, is set to film in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Soderbergh and Frank are executive producing alongside Casey Silver.
Frank earned an Oscar nomination for his feature adaptation of Elmore Leonard’s novel into the 1998 movie Out of Sight, which was directed by Soderbergh.
Soderbergh is executive producer/director of Cinemax’s The Knick, whose second season recently ended. He also is slated to direct Hillbilly Heist with Michael Shannon and Channing Tatum set as leads. It’s expected to start shooting in the fall. In addition, Soderbergh has movie Mosaic, starring Sharon Stone, set at HBO. Frank’s screenwriting credits include Minority Report, Get Shorty, The Wolverine and most recently A Walk Among The Tombstones, which he also directed.

wow, caught the trailer last night and this looks great! I'm a bit of a sucker for westerns like Deadwood and westworld so this could be amazing...

Just started episode 1 and it's great. Noticed that all the episodes are over an hour each. Episode 1 is 70 minutes.

4 episodes in. Great show so far. Drags a bit in the long episodes, but the setting is awesome, the characters well developed and the acting is superb.

Wrapped this up today and I loved it except for the last 25 minutes of the final episode.
That irked the shit out of me. Overall, Jeff Daniels was great and I liked the series.

Just finished the seventh episode last night. A pretty solid show overall. I've got to say Merrit Weaver was a stand out in the series. I find her a bit annoying sometimes but she really did a great job in the role. I have to say the final episode was pretty amazing even if you could see it coming. I would definitely watch more episodes if a second series was ordered.

I'm pretty sure that Big Little Lies with Reese Witherspoon & Nicole Kidman was also a limited series, but it turned out well, and they are doing a second season of that show.
