Disappointing. They did largely write Cristal out of the second half's major story arcs.

When this show started, she was supposed to be the central lead and was an early focus for most of the storylines. I have to wonder what happened to leave the show so early. Kelley is one of those contracted CW actresses groomed for years by the network to eventually be a lead actress.

Easy. Liz Gillies (Fallon) outshined her and chewed up most scenes she was in. She easily became the star of the show. Kelley probably became expendable and the fire/shooting was an easy way to write her out.

I agree that Fallon was the better character and became the central star as the season wore on.

The ratings were miserable, I'm guessing budget cuts had something to do with it.

Wonder if they'll re-introduce "Cristal" as all bandaged up from burns + shots, and/or if she'll re-appear with amnesia?

IIRC, both happened in the original series. Steven Carrington in an oil rig explosion (ie. recast with Jack Coleman) , and Fallon Carrington with amnesia in LA (ie. recast with Emma Samms).

This thread has been dead for a long time, but I love this fucking show. It's so over the top and crazy. I've been playing catch up and finally made it to 7 episodes into the current season.

For those who haven't kept up, it's currently on season 3 and was renewed for a 4th season.

I really hate the bastard Carrington Adam, but the actor who plays him is so over the top, which does make it entertaining.

Love Fallon. Some of her antics are crazy. And I at the episode this season where she was high because of a gas leak and it turned the episode into a musical and everyone including her broke out into song.

Michael Michelle was introduced this season as Dominique Devereaux, who is the 2 Colby kids mother. It's super confusing with all the lineages and she happens to be the bastard sister of Blake Carrington.

Obviously they are just making up shit as they go along, but it's been entertaining.

Agreed. The show is a lot of fun and realizes it's nothing more than a trashy soap. It's Fallon's show, she carries it.

I’m now caught up. Loved how weird Friday’s episode was when Fallon and Adam went to rescue Kirby from that compound and then broke out into song. “ Happy Together “ Now they’re actually sorta redeeming Adam after he was such an annoying prick.

And then the Cat fight in the pound between Cristal and Alexis. Now that was straight out of old Dynasty.
