USA Network today announced that critically-acclaimed drama series MR. ROBOT will return for its 10-episode third season on Wednesday, October 11 at 10/9c. The premiere date, along with the first image of Bobby Cannavale's highly-anticipated character Irving and an exclusive Season 3 trailer, were unmasked through a social media scavenger hunt orchestrated by the network. MR. ROBOT follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), a cyber-security engineer who, along with Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) and fsociety, starts a revolution to change the world. Picking up immediately following the Season 2 cliffhanger, Season 3 will explore each character's motivations and the disintegration between Elliot and Mr. Robot.

It'll be interesting to see how this one fares. The second season split the audience in half, literally. I'm in for two episodes at least.

Yeah I hated the second season but I'll see where the first couple of this one go.

I still love the show. Bought Season 3 from Vudu for $20 so I can watch it whenever and commercial free on my bedroom Roku. Looking forward to watching it tomorrow.

Also not a fan of S2. Speaking of which, what is this supposed cliffhanger from S2?

Didn't figure it was that since the outcome is obvious. Thought it was more to do with what I've read this season will be about.

Spoiler:
Irving

So I see we are still doing the ultra slow paced ham fisted direction thing. And I'm still not buying all of these heel turns from Angela. This one isn't gonna see a fourth season.

I'm sure we'll get a twist within a twist but it's hard buying Angela working for Mr. Robot.

Wow, tough crowd. I liked it. Want to see where it goes.

Who knew Trump's election was Elliot's fault? I was still blaming Jimmy Fallon.

I think the issue is really that they just need to get back to good storytelling. There is a good story somewhere here and Rami is a great actor. But Esmail thinks he's a good writer and director and he's not. It's coming off as pretentious drivel all too often. Watching the premiere I kept thinking that Sam has really studied David Fincher alot haha.

I'm with you. And even with S2 not being as good as S1, it was till a hell of a lot better than most of the crap available out there.

Esmail hit a homerun with season one and has decided to go even further down the rabbit hole seeking that high again. This is entertainment with characters and a premise that work much better in a film than an ongoing plot needed by serialized television.

The acting was never a problem with Orphan Black.

Re: Mr. Robot (USA) -- Season 3 Discussion Thread -- premieres 10/11/17

DVR picked this up so I watched the premier. I had forgotten how much I had grown to dislike this show. The protagonists are all loathsome individuals, and the story is a complete self-indulgent mess. I'm back out, and this time I'm remembering to delete the series from the DVR.

I just binged the entire second season. What a piece of shit this show is. It's not just like Fight Club, it is Fight Club, just a longer, shittier version of it. I'm out.

Re: Mr. Robot (USA) -- Season 3 Discussion Thread -- premieres 10/11/17

I couldn't follow the first episode - are they going down the sci-fi route? Or were they just being clever and trying to trick the viewer (like they tried to do for half the 2nd season with the twist that really added nothing)?

Thought the first season was exceptional even if it borrowed from Fight Club. But now it's almost trying to be too clever and edgy.
