Future Man (Hulu) -- EP: Rogen/Goldberg, S: Hutcherson, Coupe
This trailer contains: Time travel, dance battles, Josh Hutcherson, and herpes. From Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, all episode of Future Man premiere Nov. 14, only on Hulu.
Future Man stars Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) as “Josh Futturman,” a janitor by day/gamer by night who is recruited by mysterious visitors to travel through time in order to prevent the extinction of humanity.
From Executive Producers Seth Rogen (Sausage Party, Knocked Up, This is the End) and Evan Goldberg (Preacher, Sausage Party, Superbad, Knocked Up), Future Man follows a janitor by day/world-ranked gamer by night who travels through time to prevent the extinction of humanity after mysterious visitors from the future proclaim him the key to defeating the imminent super-race invasion. Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games, The Kids Are Alright) stars as Josh Futterman, an uninspired and dejected gamer who quickly becomes earth’s unlikely hero. Eliza Coupe (Happy Endings), Derek Wilson (Preacher), Ed Begley Jr. (St. Elsewhere) and Glenne Headly (Don Jon) also star.

Regal had been showing previews for this for months.
Looks interesting but Until Hulu adds 5.1 I'm not paying.
I get a free trial every few mmonths or so from Groupon and that
holds me over for a while.

I'm still torn on whether I should watch this or not.
Seems really cheesy and that's usually a sign that I won't like it.

It’s definitely cheesey, but I’m 5 episodes in and enjoying it. Lots of little BttF nods, even a musical que reminiscent of the score. The time travelers are over the top silly, but in a funny way. Not fine cinema by any means, but perfect for when you want to turn your brain off and laugh.

I just finished the last episode. I didn’t go into this with any expectations but it turned out to be a solid and hilarious ride from beginning to end. Hopefully it’ll pick up a good following and get a second season.

I was meh the first couple episodes but then it just became an awesome ride that I didn't want to end.

Sounds Ender's Game-ish. And Headly died 6 months ago, wondering if it caused any issues with production.

Holy shit. I just watched the Demon Seed/James Cameron episode.
This episode alone made it worth watching the series.

I watched the first 2 eps of this based on the glowing recs and I just couldn't get into it. I know its suppose to be cheez but it was just too juvenile. Not a show for me I guess.

Keep watching. It's not that great in the beginning but really hits its stride ~ep3/4.
One of the best pop-culture commentary shows on TV right now.
The Thunderdome/Iron Chef episode had me rolling.

Considering Hulu doesn't have much else going on, that doesn't surprise me. The James Cameron episode was fun, but season one was not only juvenile in its sense of humor but also sociopathic in its treatment of its characters. Everything existed to be a punchline—even the character development. I chalk up the inability to have a single genuine emotion to bad writing. I knew it wouldn't go anyplace interesting once it killed off Jeri with a dumb gag.

Came in a little late to this AMAZING show but wifey and I are hooked. So clever and fun. It's one of the most underappreciated series out right now.

Season 2 is up. It's in 5.1 on my Fire TV. I have the limited sub of Hulu I get free with Spotify. I honestly don't know if I can put up with the plethora of commercials.
Unfortunately Hulu doesn't allow us to upgrade to the commercial free package without paying full price.

I’m 5 episodes in. So far I’m not enjoying this nearly as much as the first season. It’s not as funny, and it kinda feels like the writers didn’t have much of an idea of where to go.

I've got such a backlog at the moment that it's likely gonna be some time before I can dig into season 2. :/

Ok, just finished. My opinion stands. However, the last 3 episodes or so were great, which made up for things a bit.

I'm digging it personally, it's very different from season 1 but it's still an enjoyable sci-com
The first season definitely had better stories, this is much more linear and character oriented. But man did I love that ending. Hope there's a third season.
