As a forced series finale it was not the worst. Much better than Scorpion and The Exorcist.

Special 2 hour bonus episode to air next Monday (5/28)
If you're confused, these are 2 standalone episodes that were filmed for this season, but there wasn't enough time to air them before the season wrapped. These are episodes 21 and 22 in the season 3 production order. They probably would have aired earlier in the season if there was more time or would have been saved for season 4 if there was one.
They shot 22 episodes for season 3 and there were 4 leftover from season 2. 26 total.
ELLA IS HIDING A BIG SECRET & LUCIFER’S LIFE IS DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT ON AN ALL-NEW TWO-HOUR BONUS EPISODE OF “LUCIFER” MONDAY, MAY 28 ON FOX
As Lucifer and the team investigate the murder of a child psychiatrist, Ella thinks about a big childhood secret that she’s been hiding. Then, after Lucifer’s mom creates an alternate dimension, Lucifer now lives in a world where he not only has never met Chloe, but is granted the freedom of choice. Don’t miss the all-new “Boo Normal/Once Upon a Time” two-hour bonus episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, May 28 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (L-321/22) (TV-14 D, L, S, V)
Cast: Tom Ellis as Lucifer, Lauren German as Chloe, DB Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Maze, Kevin Alejandro as Dan, Scarlett Estevez as Trixie, Rachael Harris as Linda Martin, Tricia Helfer as Charlotte, Aimee Garcia as Ella and Tom Welling as Marcus Pierce
Guest Cast: Charlyne Yi as Ray-Ray/Azreal, Madeleine Coghlan as Beckett Wilson, Nadine Ellis as Iris/Purple Wolf, Neil Gaiman as God, Louis Herthum as Lt. John Decker, Brian Tee as Ben Rogers, David Meunier as Rex Wilson

I guess that’s a you’re welcome, have a few bonus episodes. Or F you. I’ll have to watch the second one as I’m a sucker for alt reality. Sounds like that Castle episode from late in its run.
I watched the last 3 (sans these two). The last two were particularly good! Better than anything the last season for sure. I really do think they got away too much from Lucifer and Chloe, even if all the other combos they put together were great.
I don’t need a full season, but it would be good to have a 90 minute made for TV movie to wrap things up. Or could it really hurt to give a 6-7 episode order to hedge against new season duds?

I watched the last two episodes and really enjoyed them. Lopez might have been a bigger part of the mythology if the show kept going. Interesting outcomes in the what if episode which was narrated by
Neil Gaiman.
Neil Gaiman.

Great thing about streaming services is that they can pick up and continue cult shows that the commercial (both broad ast and cable) can't support.
I'm of the mind that Lucifer would work so much better with shorter, brisker seasons of about ten episodes rather than being stretched out over twenty.

I'm guessing that part of this deal will involve moving season 1-3 from Hulu to Netflix in the very near future.
Plus, it's only going to get 10-13 episodes being a Netflix original now, which is fine. But, I wonder if they will change the show from procedural to serial. Serials play better on Netflix than procedurals.

Holy frijoles, this is wonderful news. It sounds like most, if not all of the core cast members are coming back just from the tweets that I checked out in the Deadline article.
This put a smile on my face because one I really like the show, and two Tom Ellis was born to play this role.

So now Lucifer can actually say shit or even drop an F bomb. And we can get even more scantily clad models. It might be good to take the show in a darker direction as opposed to the restrictions of a broadcast network.

All the above, just make Season 4 a tv version of Devil's Advocate.

Update 10 episodes ordered for season 4.
Better than 0. And season 1 was 13, so it should fall close to that in structure.
