Pretty much no chance of HBO doing a Marvel show. HBO is a under Time Warner, which DC is also under. If HBO were to do more comic shows (outside of Watchmen), it would be DC.

Just finished rewatching S1-7 the other day. I'm ready, but sad it's ending.
Been a lot of talk today about this big battle, and how long it is. I didn't read the whole article, but it seems spoiler free.
https://ew.com/tv/2019/03/04/game-of...ason-8-battle/ It also mentions they have the airspace controlled by the government while shooting!

At this point I'm going to pass on watching even the trailer. We're so close to the start; I wanna go in blind.

Do you think there will be a deluxe BR set of the entire series before the end of the year? I sold what sets I had in anticipation of it. I know I could just watch through HBO Now, but I want this to go next to my sets of Entourage and BattleStar Galactica (the reboot of course).

HBO has posted the exact length of the first two episodes of Game of Thrones final season.
The network has updated its schedule (as first spottedthis link opens in a new tab by Winter is Coming) to reveal the season 8 series premiere on Sunday, April 14 will be precisely 54 minutes. The second episode on April 21 will be 58 minutes.
The news echoes a previous report from a January meeting of a group of TV networks in France that suggested the first two episodes of the final season would an hour each — and also predicted the last four episodes would be 80 minutes each. After that meeting, an HBO executive noted to EW that the episodes were still being edited and the numbers could change. As I wrote at the time: “My speculation is that, if this information is accurate, that 60, 60, 80, 80, 80, 80 will translate into two episodes that are nearly an hour and then four that are between 70-85 minutes — so, still, plenty of super-sized episodes (quite possibly the longest average episode length in the show’s history), but not quite as perfectly rounded as what was estimated on stage.”
As usual for this stage on secretive GoT, there were no titles yet listed for the episodes. Titles are typically announced two or three weeks before air.

Kit Harrington was on Colbert last week and he said that the big battle scene took over 50 nights to shoot, it was a pain having to work nights for so long, and it was shot in Ireland over the winter. So it's a night battle in winter. When asked he said that no one dies.

I read something last week about this season having the largest battle ever put to film. Sounds about right based on those comments.

They better deliver as only 6 episodes.
And send all the zombies over to Walking Dead after GoT ends and take over the series.

And here's the length of all the episodes:
The long wait for the final season of Game of Thrones is finally over – and just to get you that little bit more excited about the season 8 premiere, HBO has now revealed the exact length of all six episodes.
The network has updated its TV schedule to reveal that the opening episode, which airs on April 14, will be 54 minutes long, while the second instalment, airing on April 21, will be 58 minutes long.
Episode three is 60 minutes, episode four is 78 minutes, and the final two episodes are a whopping 80 minutes each. The Long Nights are definitely here...

Re: Game of Thrones -- Season 8 news, rumors, casting, etc.
Why have 6 overly long episodes instead of taking the extra time allotted to each of them to make it say 10 normal length episodes?
