It was a decent enough episode.

I didn't mind the humour of the cannibal played by Tim Meadows, but when he revealed that he only killed children - I got uncomfortable. Yikes.

Big fan of Meadows and LDP but this fell real flat for me. I'm realizing that I mostly enjoy episodes with a lot of screen time by Braugher and Crews.

I thought this was a pretty good ep. Perallta is usually the least funny character for me but I thought his stuff wasn't bad this week.

Braugher and Crews have great chemistry and I love the fact that trying to cancel cable is was finally broke them! I don't know what to think about Boyle's hair.

One line in the opening made me laugh, when Terry is catching the audience up on where things stand with the characters since last season and Hitchcock jumps in:

And why am I bleeding?
I don't know, Hitchcock.
Oh, so you don't have all the answers.

They need to stop doing these cliffhangers. While there were some funny individual moments, neither of the opening episodes worked for me.

October 17th episode...

Spoiler:
What a twist! The proposal was a good scene. Almost seemed like a realistic reaction from Melissa Fumero (Amy).

And Holt’s reaction to fake Cheddar was great

Next year I want to see either Hitchcock or Scully win by pure luck of accidentally finding the "trophy".

So, it seems they've written Stephanie Beatriz' real-life bisexuality into the plot. And I for one couldn't be happier.

Last nights episode was just fantastic. The AV club gave it a well deserved A rating.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX) -- Season 5 Thread -- premieres 9/26/17

No one else in my family is into it, but I think the show is always good for a couple of laughs, mostly through the one-liners. The Scully and Hitchcock stuff is dumb but cracks me up despite my best efforts to be above such childishness. Boyle has gotten a lot more consistently funny as well. Terry is great too, and please tell him I said that if you see him.

Whatever happened to the red headed woman that used to be on the show? How did they write her out?

Chelsea Peretti - She had a baby this past summer (in real life) and in the show Black Sheep Boyle (Ryan Phillippe) got her pregnant and presumably she is off having the baby. Likely she will show back up sometime this season.

So Rosa is bi. I've read a lot of positive feedback on how they handled her telling Boyle, in that it wasn't a big deal and it wasn't the central point of the episode. Another good episode though.

I don't hate her on the show or anything, but I haven't really missed her being gone.

I'd say I enjoy it more without her character. Gives more screen time to the others, who deliver better material. With all of Jordan's recent success, maybe she'll decide to step down to take care of their child.

I hadn't really thought about it, but now that you mention it I agree completely.

I have not missed her at all, she is still in the opening credits .. which is my main reminder she was on the show. I do not hate her on the show, but I think everyone else in the main cast is just better.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX) -- Season 5 Thread -- premieres 9/26/17

Didn't she take a previous long hiatus from the show also? Was she having a baby then too? The main actress on ABC's "American Housewife" was pretty much pregnant in real life the whole first season and it wasn't written into the show. Now in the second season, she's also pregnant in real life again, but I expect she'll shoot the whole season as normal. Can Chelsea Peretti not afford a nanny or something?
