According to Wayans Riggs is in fact dead come the season opener.

It’s not an official studio statement, but since it’s a comment on filming of the episode that has completed, I’ll take the statement at face value.
Very unfortunate, as I really think Crawford’s Riggs was the core of the show. I’ll be curious to see how the ratings shape up come fall.

Crawford got mad at Keesha Sharp in this recent twitter exchange.
She was responding to a fan who got mad at her for not defending Crawford.

Well...it was (still is) a big deal that one of the two primary characters on a show that pleasantly surprised folks (there was a lot groaning from folks about how pointless it was to create this show) with how fun a watch it was ended up being fired so I get that Clayne is still miffed at how things went down.
The problem is that it sounds like his co-star was a diva and he was a hot head...the cast and crew are used to divas in Hollywood, and even hot heads, but now with the metoo and timesup movements and just a lot more awareness of how hyper-angry folks can make others around them feel like they are not in a safe space it makes a certain amount of sense why they let him go.
Clayne struck me as someone with actual talent so I really think he needs to lay low and then slowly but stealthily show up in projects that get him back in good graces in Hollywood.
He is doing himself no favors drawing this out...he is not going to be re-hired for this show and needs to start to accept what happened and look at it as a teachable moment.

Crawford has a really bad reputation right now and is playing the victim. He's not going to get him hired on any shows or Pilots for the foreseeable future. I agree he needs to lay low for awhile and stop with this "Whoah is me" shit.
Even though Wayans has come across as a Diva, he clearly won their dispute and still has a job. I think the cast along with Keesha Sharp want to keep their jobs, so they're all keeping their mouths shut and going to work business as usual.

Updated cast photos from US Weekly.
Apparently they are currently 3 episodes into filming their 13 episode order right now.
Looks like Keesha Sharp unfollowed Clayne Crawford on Twitter after their little "fight" a few weeks ago.

Look into the story behind Crawford's hiring. He had already retired from acting and the producers flew out to his home to beg him to take the job. It was the producers that wanted Crawford in the first place, the network never wanted him in the role.
I have the feeling Crawford walks away from Hollywood unless someone throws a pile of money at him.

In case you're wondering about Jordana Brewster - she's being written out of the series as well. She was one of Clayne's biggest supporters on the set, and a certain someone (you can guess who) wanted her gone. She's in the first three episodes and then she's gone.

I can’t help but feel this show will go down in tv history very infamously. I can’t think of another show that had low expectations, moderate critical and ratings success, and then imploded. Fold in the behind the scenes drama and it’s ripe for some E! True story in 5-10 years.

With Riggs gone, makes sense she is gone too. No big loss.

Update on my post...I guess she's still unofficially on the series - they're kind of waiting to see what the first couple weeks of ratings are before "officially" dropping her. In short, she's still under contract to bring back if the ratings take an early nosedive. But you'll notice they've not put her in the cast photo.

I listened to the whole Podcast. It's over 90 minutes long. So I'm sure none of you will listen to it due to it's length. But, it's a really good, open and honest interview by Clayne.
He basically said that Lethal Weapon was an awful experience. Damon Wayans completely checked out after the Pilot episode and was awful to work with. He also said that it was a horribly managed set. Matt Miller, the showrunner, was hardly ever on set. He said he was probably there 10 of the 22 episodes. And they had no supervising director on set either, so it was basically the guest director and crew who had to get the episodes completed.
He said that the studio and network were practically no help with his problems with Damon. Even on the episode that he directed, they had massive issues and fell behind in the shooting schedule because of Damon's awful behavior. And he said the media created a false narrative that made him seem the villain, when all he wanted to do was go to work and put out the best product possible. He lost his cool, which ultimately led to his troubles mainly because of the frustrations he experienced on set. Damon was a dick to him in the episode he directed as well.
He confirmed that Jordana Brewster quit the show partly in support of him. And they also have the same management team. He got little support from a lot of the crew for fear of losing their jobs. He said that 70 crew members from last season got fired because a lot of them supported him or dealt with him closely. He also said that some of the actors would not publicly support him for fear of losing their jobs like Keesha Sharp. He was surprised that Kevin Rahm returned to the show because they were good friends and Rahm supported him.
It's a really long interview, so I don't expect anyone here to listen to it. But, it was cool hearing how open and candid he was. Seems like he was a "small" guy who ultimately got screwed by the "big boys" in the studio, network and media.

Yeah I listened to it too, very interesting hearing his side, Wayans sounds like a major diva (of course, this is Crawford's side only). It seems like it was a miracle that 2 seasons were even produced.
Finally got around to finish season 2. Season finale was good, would have made a good series finale.

The fact is that Damon is just enough of a big(ish) star that folks let him get away with shit that get folks like Clayne fired, but the brass on the Fox lot could (should) have intervened and given Wayans a swift kick in the ass to not behave like a spoiled child on-set.

Re: Lethal Weapon (FOX) -- Season 2 Thread -- Premieres 9/26/17
I listened to the podcast as well.* I agree there is a certain degree of bias, but his account seems fairly level headed and down to earth. If it was a matter of misbehavior - which nobody seems to contract the therapy or escorting requirements - I feel like it would be swept away and business as usual. I really think it all has to do with attitudes and personalities of “the Star.”
*i was not familiar with the podcast in question, but enjoyed it. I’ll have to check out more.
I was on the fence about season 3, but really only out of curiosity. Given everything discussed, especially network behavior, I’m now of the opinion that I won’t even watch for the sake of curiosity.
