Still watching and usually laughing. Love Sheldon's sister. Trying to remember when the first Watchmen compilation came out ... not that it matters.

The show has grown on me tremendously over the season. I was ready to drop it, but kept giving it one more week. Now, we look forward to it more than TBBT, and if I had to choose one over the other, it would be Young Sheldon.

Love the sister! She gets some great lines. The grandma usually gets some good zingers too. Did you catch what the dad did with his napkin when he left the table to take a cold shower?

Me too. TBBT is just sad now.

The comic store has so many collectible books but it was kind of odd that they were all over the place. Even in that time a lot of those titles would have already been wall books.

Wow, no activity this season. Has everyone dropped this?

They went a bit meta last night with Sheldon's sister telling him about the TV show Blossom. It would have been cool if they could have shown him seeing an episode and had him make some comment about Blossom.

Also an ALF appearance.

Then Georgie got baptized. Wouldn't he have already been baptized when he was a baby considering how religious his mother is? I guess he could have been getting baptized for a 2nd time.

If the Coopers are Baptists, then they probably don’t practice infant baptism. Some protestant denominations don’t baptize until you’re old enough to accept Christ of your own free will.

Re: Young Sheldon (CBS) -- The Big Bang Theory Prequel -- Series Thread

The universe of Young Sheldon will expand dramatically next week as the CBS comedy pays homage to its departing mothership.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Young Sheldon‘s Season 2 finale — which is set to air May 16 at 9/8c, immediately following the one-hour series finale of The Big Bang Theory — will feature younger versions of Leonard, Penny, Howard, Raj, Amy and Bernadette. A CBS rep confirms that miniature versions Sheldon’s future squad, played on Big Bang by Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch, will cross over as both a tribute to Big Bang and as part of a Young Sheldon storyline.

It’s not clear exactly how the gang will figure into the episode, but considering Sheldon doesn’t meet the sextet until adulthood it seems unlikely that they would find themselves in Young Sheldon’s immediate Texas orbit. Another unknown: The identity of the child actors portraying the youngsters.

Great idea, with great potential to go bad. I'm torn.

That said I quite enjoy Young Sheldon. At this stage, it's better than BBT.

Completely agreee. BBT has been a somewhat chore to watch for nearly the past 3 seasons...but I somehow stick with it.

Does this show need the gimmick? I can't stand it myself but I thought it was doing quite well. Why bring in these characters who we know he doesn't meet for years? TBBT has been on fumes for several seasons. We kind of watch it out of habit. Not sorry to see it go.

Spoiler:
So Sheldon does become a father... lol Is this the first time they've confirmed it?

No, the adult Sheldon narration had previously mentioned that he had kids (more than one). It was either last season or the season before. I don't think there's a need to spoiler this.

Yeah, my son didn’t understand what happened to his voice and started getting upset his own voice would change in a few years.

My family was watching the season premiere, and I was in the other room. I thought they had recast based off what I was hearing, until I came into the room and looked at the screen.

Re: Young Sheldon (CBS) -- The Big Bang Theory Prequel -- Series Thread

The last few comments above are making me laugh because after watching this I said to myself that any comments on the new season episode that just aired are going to talk about how the actor who plays young Sheldon is going through puberty big-time. I quickly adjusted and did not let it be much of a distraction.

Also, to me one of the funniest bits last night is when Janine from Ghostbusters and Coach are discussing re-payment of Coach bailing her out of prison and he gets to the point where he is all like oh, I thought knocking down $500 for each roll in the hay he is granted with her is more than fair, and Janine says oh yeah, that is what a woman wants to hear.

I kind-of skipped quite a few eps last season, but hope to keep up now that the show is back on the air. I am still amazed that in the fairly brief time (maybe 6-12 months since a new episode aired, correct?) the show was off the air (or at least we were seeing re-runs air) that the Young Sheldon actor's voice and body are choosing now to go through some major changes.

It's going to take a few episodes to get used to his lower voice.

The first words out of his mouth this season and I turned to my wife and said "Woah. His voice got deeper than the other Sheldon". So yeah very noticeable and going to be a bit challenging to ignore. With the kid voice the whining and stuff is more cute.. with the deeper voice.. not so much.

Have they dropped the narration by adult Sheldon? I don't remember hearing it in these first two episodes. Maybe they don't want us to notice the voice difference. They did at least acknowledge his deeper voice this week.

I remember hearing Jim Parson's voice at the end of this week's episode, but I can't recall if he was in the other episodes this season.

Re: Young Sheldon (CBS) -- The Big Bang Theory Prequel -- Series Thread

I'm a little late to the party on this one. After the last few seasons of the Big Bang Theory were so disappointing, I needed a break from that universe. I recently started binge watching Young Sheldon, and I've been pleasantly surprised. Everyone in the cast is outstanding; Zoe Perry is doing a great job stepping into her mother's shoes. I think it will be really sad when George inevitably does pass away, the guy has grown on me.
