Ghosted (FOX) -- S: Craig Robinson, Adam Scott -- Premieres 10/1/17

http://www.spoilersguide.com/media/e...sted-sdcc2.jpg

From 20th Century Fox Television, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Gettin’ Rad Productions, a cynical skeptic (Craig Robinson), and a genius “true believer” in the paranormal (Adam Scott), are recruited by a secret government agency to look into the rampant “unexplained” activity in Los Angeles -- all while uncovering a larger mystery that could threaten the existence of the human race. Craig Robinson and Adam Scott will both serve as executive producers, in addition to starring. Other EPs are Naomi Scott, Oly Obst, Mark Schulman and Tom Gormican (“That Awkward Moment”), who penned the pilot. Kevin Etten (“Workaholics,” “Scrubs,” “Desperate Housewives”) has signed on as showrunner and will also serve as an exec producer.

Fox is giving this series a huge promotional push. They desperately want it to be a hit.

The pilot is also free on FandangoNow and after I watched it... meh.

I like Craig Robinson but Adam Scott comes off to me as someone who tries too hard. It is a pilot so obviously more time needs to be invested. But a lot of jokes fell flat and the chemistry just wasn't there between any characters.

I watched this on Hulu last night and I thought it was decent. I'll keep watching for now.

This and Orville. I counted 18ish ads yesterday for them both.

Fun chemistry between the two leads, but this show is dumb. I will tune in again, but it's essentially Ghostbusters

I guess my hopes were way too high for this. Most of the show fell flat. I'm going to give it another chance because I like the leads, but I was very disappointed in it.

Re: Ghosted (FOX) -- S: Craig Robinson, Adam Scott -- Premieres 10/1/17

Think about Fox's two big, new shows of the Fall season. The Orville is a direct rip-off of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Ghosted is a rip-off of Ghostbusters, down to similar music cues when they are fighting ghosts.

Hollywood truly has run out of ideas.

The leads in Ghosted are likable and I could see the show working. I did roll my eyes at seeing the same tired formula of a secret team supporting the main characters, down to the now typical hacker girl. This is Flash's tv formula crossed with Ghostbusters.

Maybe I missed something, but I didn't see any ghosts in this episode. Why all the comparisons to Ghostbusters? It was more X-Files than anything.

Wow, this is just awful. Probably didn't get through half way through. If it had to get good word of mouth, I'd go back to watch, but reviews have not been good.

Yea, I dumped this halfway through the second episode.

FYI - Adam Scott is not funny

I do like Craig Robinson’s humor though

I would say it's watchable but very forgettable. The two leads are perfect castings, the supporting cast has some unusual picks for a network series.

This is turning into a fave of mine, I am not a Craig Robinson or Adam Scott groupie, but the show is quirky enough that it works. The head of the Bureau Underground trying to spy on her daughter was nothing original for a sitcom, but I still found the bit cute (what with getting all her friends to dress up the same to foil surveillance).

Also, it helps that I am a fan of Ally Walker and Amber Stevens West (Ally Walker since her Profiler days, and Amber Stevens West from her days on Greek, and The Carmichael Show).

The music in this episode sounded straight out of FLETCH. Was it like that in the previous episodes? I don't remember noticing it. Very 80s.

I like Craig Robinson, and Adam Scott is Ok I guess. But they dont have much to work with here. The plots for the episodes seem they were written on the back of a napkin a half hour before they started filming.

I get what you are saying but I think that is part of the shows charm.

Watchable but forgettable - that's a good description so far.
Yes, the fact that a Huey Lewis song was featured prominently in the ep I just watched was a little odd (I do love me some Huey Lewis though.)
I liked the pilot, didn't so much like Bee'mo - other than the Bee'mo stuff which was nice to see.
I'm not expecting some huge multiepisode conspiracy, and I'm OK with "monster of the week" stuff, but there has to be some context to those monsters.
I'll give it a few more eps but I'm a little worried based on the 2 I've seen so far.

Yeah, I could appreciate its charm more if it were funnier.

The first episode had a soundtrack that could have been ripped directly from Ghostbusters. They are definitely going after a Gen X demo with these homages.

I thought the succubus episode wasn't very funny and I don't understand where the story is going at all with Adam Scott's wife breaking out of the asylum. That looks like a sub-plot that will be quickly addressed when the producers realize it's not working and then conveniently dropped.

Watched the pilot with two of my friends, and none of us laughed, even once. For me, I think part of the problem is that, while I like Scott and Robinson in secondary roles, I'm not sure they have the charisma to be leads. But that's just me.
