Agreed. Great episode last night. This season so far has been a (good) surprise.

Re: The Good Place (NBC) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 9/20/17

Hilarious episode! I loved the names of the restaurants that were in the background, which kept changing with every iteration.

There was the Italian theme (The Pesto's Yet To Come, You Do The Hokey Gnocchi And You Get Yourself Some Food, Lasagne Come Out Tomorrow).

Then the International Theme (Knish From A Rose, Biscotti Pippen, Beignet and the Jets, Cake Canaveral, Cruller Intentions).

The Stick Theme (Steak On A Stick, Bagel On A Stick, Caviar On A Stick, Hot Dog On A Stick On A Stick).

And my favorite - Sushi and the Banshees 8^)

"Beignet and the Jets"

I didn't catch that one.

The last episode was great because it was written by Megan Amram and directed by Drew Goddard.

Re: The Good Place (NBC) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 9/20/17

As soon as it was revealed that Michael cannot make this work with these four, it was pretty much a forgone conclusion that they would have to work together to keep the next level boss in the dark. But the episode was still a lot of fun to watch. Brilliant way to handle showing that there were hundreds of bad attempts. I can't wait to see the six main characters now working together now to essentially put on a full time show for the boss.

Really liking this season so far. Glad that they are making it different from last season, which while a great season, would become repetitive and boring.

I'm a few eps behind but Janet is turning into my favorite character on tv.

Just watched episode 2 from this season and her screaming she was pregnant and pulling out the somogram before Michael hit the button killed me

Yea. Janet is the best. That actress plays the role perfectly.

Ted Danson still has his fastball.

Janet was filling out that dress quite nicely.

This show is probably the best comedy on TV right now (granted I do not watch a lot of comedies that are only on basic/paid cable, but those comedies are probably not that superior to The Good Place), and Ted Danson is just great in this.

I've got a feeling that "Mid-Life Crisis" "Michael" might have been Ted Danson remembering his Whoopi Goldberg period.

Hopefully they never put her back in that purple frumpy thing she was worn for most of the episodes.

Best part for me though was the end. Figured they would eventually have those two bump uglies, but they still made it a funny scene.

Speechless and Blackish come close. Arguably the Golldbergs, though I think I probably give that too much credit because I'm in the right demographic for 80s nostalgia. Me, Myself & I has potential but it's too soon to tell.

But Good Place is clever, thought-provoking, and well-acted without sacrificing a single bit of hilarity. It's great.

Shows really do love the Trolley Problem, this has been a really fun season so far, especially the last couple episodes.

After the last episode I think Janet is going to be rebooted soon in order to avoid some of the impending disasters.

I could see a Skynet situation happening with Janet. She becomes self aware and then all hell breaks loose.

Janet has been self aware for most of the series. Often begging not to be reset. What she hasn't done if figure out how to take control and prevent it from happening. Would love to see that. And a return of that dress she wore to the big party.

Re: The Good Place (NBC) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 9/20/17

She begs not to be reset because she is programmed to do that. I think shes self aware in the sense that she is like a library program that knows its a library program. She can regurgitate data because she has access to all information. But when Tahani asked her to digest and understand everything on human psychology. She basically asked her to understand the human condition. Which is altogether a different deal and why I think shes going haywire

Possibly. It would be great if they took that further and she basically became one of the leads.

I think think Janet's my favorite character - hope they don't re-tool her too much.
