Disjointed, a new Netflix original comedy series starring Academy Award winner Kathy Bates, announced its August 25th premiere today. Disjointed is a 30 minute sitcom from creators Chuck Lorre and former Daily Show head writer David Javerbaum. Ruth, a lifelong advocate for legalization, is finally living her dream as the owner of an Los Angeles cannabis dispensary, Ruth's Alternative Caring. Joining her are three charismatic "budtenders", her entrepreneurial twenty-something year old son and a very troubled security guard. In addition to Bates, the series stars Tone Bell, Aaron Moten, Elizabeth Alderfer, Dougie Baldwin and Elizabeth Ho. Could not make it through an entire episode. Completely awful. Cringeworthy jokes and an obnoxious laugh track.

The trailer makes it look really bad.
Most of the punchlines weren't actually jokes, but someone keeps pushing the laugh track button. Based on that and the mostly bad reviews, it's a hard pass. |

I'm 3 episodes in and actually like it. No, I don't smoke. You get used to the laugh track -- reminds me of that Adam Green/Joe Lynch show Holliston.
The dispensary security guard with PTSD is hilarious and the girls that work there are hot. |

Seems like Weeds with a much less attractive lead and a laugh track.

Of course it's my luck that the white girl working the dispensary looks like an ex...with the same name!

Weird. I thought I had posted some time ago that I had finished it. It gets a little heavy with Carter and his PTSD. Overall I kinda liked it. The characters grow on you. I didn't mind the laughtrack on The Ranch either. I can see how some wouldn't like it. The finale has a nice cameo.
If it gets renewed, it'll be interesting to see what happens. Shit goes down. |

I thought it had a full season split into to two? It says "Pt. 1" throughout. :confused:
Yeah, it does get heavy in spots and that finale was tough considering the previous 9 episodes were fun and fluffy. |

Yup. I'll probably watch it in the next couple of days. Had other stuff to get to otherwise I would have binged it already.

I couldn't finish the first episode. A laugh track? So cringe worth begin with and the show just wasn't funny at all.
