Episodes (Showtime) -- The Final Season Thread -- Premieres 8/20/17
At the start of the final season of EPISODES, several months have passed and the game show is now a runaway hit. Unfortunately for Matt, this means he is now only thought of as a game show host, his years as an actor completely forgotten. Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig) are equally miserable. Sean's loathsome ex-partner is now in charge of their new show, The Opposite of Us, and Sean and Beverly must now endure his utter lack of humor or talent as they watch him slowly destroy their show. The cast also includes John Pankow, Kathleen Rose Perkins and Mircea Monroe. EPISODES is created and executive produced by award-winning writing partners David Crane (Friends) & Jeffrey Klarik (Mad About You). Klarik directed the entire final season. The series is also executive produced by Jimmy Mulville through his Hat Trick production company.
7 episode final season
The show last aired over 2 years ago (March 2015)

Ridiculous that it has been 2 years since this was on. Pretty much forgotten what had happened.

This show continues to be a brilliant satire of Network television. Loved the premiere.

Yeah, I'm going to miss this one when it's done. I've always enjoyed Stephen Mangan and Tamzin Greig, but it's also made me appreciate Matt Leblanc, and introduced me to the lovely Kathleen Rose Perkins.
Good start to the season!

Amazing show for sure. It's the only comedy I watch, but can easily say that its the best comedy on television.

"So you gonna pay for it?"
"Well we did what we could..."
I love this show. It is so crazy that Matt Leblanc probably made more for the 1 season of Man with a Plan than the entire run of Episodes despite the latter being so much better in quality that it is like comparing a lump of coal with a diamond.
I wish this show could continue since it is so good.

Holy shit, the back and forth on the phones was fucking great.
You could see the ashes part coming from a mile away but was still hilarious.

Enjoyed this final series, but that last episode was hands down the worst of the entire series. Episodes was at its best with Matt, Bev, and Sean together, so why spend half of your last episode on Carol and some minor character from last season in the bathroom.
Also, the whole they-ended-writing-based-on-their-experiences-during-the-show is about as satisfying and creative an ending as having the characters wake up and reveal the entire series was a dream.

But I liked the ending- a lot- I thought it was a very satisfying way to end the series.

It would have been better if the network had ordered a new season of Pucks.

Yea, it was very contrived and cliche. In fact, it was so contrived and cliched that I predicted that's exactly what they would do as soon as we heard that Sean worked on a new screenplay.

The entire ride with this show has been a blast, but I really did not care for how they chose to end it.

It was certainly obvious what the new show was going to be, but I didn't mind. It's not like they kept us wondering/knowing for long. The 'cast' that would play them was pretty funny, too.
I also didn't mind extra time on Carol. I really liked her character.
Merc was pretty funny in this episode.
