Disappointed they didn't at least try and melt the White King right then and there.

Figured Dany would finally lose one. People have speculated for years that the White King would have his own dragon some day.

Thought Jon might fly out on the other dragon.

How is that remotely accurate? And what was the moment?

Anyway, wow! Just wow! Arya so badass and yeah, little implausible anyone survived attack, but who gives a shit. Pure awesomeness. Jon truly is a feline. And a turned dragon. Fucking game over...

To throw out just one tiny gripe (there are huge ones) out of at least a hundred from this episode:

Sandor throwing the rocks. Why? What the fuck was he trying to do exactly, shoo the wights away? What possible reason was there for him to do that? Oh right, the plot needed to progress some way, somehow even if at the expense of logic and character. I've honestly read better written fan-fiction than a lot of what made up tonight's episode. It was exactly the kind of episode I had always been hoping the show would never, ever become.

Now we know why the white walkers are so fucking slow to get to the wall. They must have been dragging those big ass chains with them the whole time.

Easily one of my favorite episodes of the series so far. I can't believe people are still whinging about the way time passes in the show.

I thought he was just being an impatient, pissed off brute like usual. The Hound just has that "awe F*** it" attitude. I had no issue with this at all because it seemed like it was just part of his normal character.

I enjoyed this one, but I can see where people may get turned off by some of the things that happened like super fast travel, Benjen getting there just in time, and a dragon being turned to a wight.

I was on the edge of my seat hoping for the safety of the dragons. Not sure why, but I wanted them to die the least at this point. Still love the show and will watch until the end no matter how crazy or predictable it gets.

I don't have an issue with them skipping over travel time from point a to point b when nothing story driven occurs on the trip (e.g. Greyworm ends up in Casterly Rock; Euron arriving at places).

The marathon to raven to dragons arriving was a bit much, though. It could have easily been written better and more plausible.

It's not time, it's the distances that have apparently shrunk.

Again, can someone please make sense of why Arya and Sansa are at odds?

Which dragon was turned? If it was Drogon then there's definitely a problem...

So they did it. Danny is in love with Jon now? More incest incoming!!!

I may have forgotten something down the road, or perhaps it was explained in the books, -how do the flaming swords "work"?

It was Viserion who was named after her brother Viserys.

Agree completely. It seemed perfectly in character to me. Of all the things that people could complain about in this episode, that's one of the least valid IMO.

I thought this episode was excellent and highly entertaining. I have no issues with the accelerated pace of this season, which seems to be largely what people don't like. The only minor complaint I have is that I think they're getting a little too cute with the "he's gonna die...nope just kidding" schtick. I thought Tormund was going to bite it when he was pretty much overtaken by the undead and that would have been a real and profound loss that was commensurate with the insanity of their plan, but then he was all of a sudden pulled to safety. Then they did it again with Jon going into the water. I know it makes for "good drama" but two times in one episode is a little much for me. Nevertheless, it's just a minor quibble and didn't put a damper on how much I enjoyed this one.

Great episode! No problems with the travel. Sorry to see a dragon go down but at least we can get rid of the dumb "Jon on one dragon, Tyrion on another" fan theory. And pretty sweet that they turned one.

Season finale looks pretty epic. Can't wait!

OMG I just started watching the ep so I haven't read this thread but I almost cried when Jon tried to give the sword to Jorah.

"and your children after you" <-- that settles which house it belongs to.

I know everyone is on the Dany + Jon train, but personally I'd rather see Jon marry Lyanna Mormont when she comes of age. Then Longclaw would truly be home in the best way possible.

So the dragon is a "white walker" dragon now and not just a wight dragon, right?

So if Arya takes Sansa's face does she also grow two feet?

I don't think so. It would be like the bear, which was a Wight. Wights have blue eyes too, if that's what you were thinking about...

Yes. It's magic you look and sound just like the person whose face you've taken.

I could be wrong, but don't wights just resurrect on their own from being dead? I thought this was more like how the white walkers touch human babies and they turn into white walkers.

Re: Game of Thrones (S7E06) -- "Beyond the Wall" -- 8/20/17 -- 75 min episode

Good stuff. I had called that ending of the dragon getting turned weeks ago. As far as distances go -- they're wrapping shit up -- if they had taken their time the fellowship would still been on that island for another season or 2.

*I'm not adding a spoilers tag, because it has already aired on both coasts.
