Another great episode. These last two have been a sizable improvement over the first 3. Is this season only 10 episodes?

Not sure that I would call it great, but it was good. Seemed like it spent more time giving us reveals than actually driving the plot forward.
Still, I am enjoying this season.
I loved Kai's facial expressions as he reacted to hearing about and then seeing The Gimp. Although I expected him to change his mind and recruit the TV guy at that point.

After I watching this episode, I have the feeling the news reporter will try to take over the cult from Kai later on.

This is easily the best season for this show (I still have to get through freakshow though)

That's what I am worried about ... we are almost halfway in and haven't gotten a major "pivot". It's no secret I despised Roanoke, but every time it started to gain a little bit of traction Murphy would change gears so fast the transmission dropped out.
So far this has been a fairly coherent, sensible plot with some decent twists and turns ... please don't go radical and fuck it all up. That said, there is a whole lot of show left while this story line seems to be reaching its peak. Do we get a time-jump with Kai (or Beverly?) running for - or already holding - a larger public office? Does Ally go full-on nuts and try to assassinate him/her?

Personally I think Murder House and Hotel are the best seasons of the show. But after that last episode I think this season definitely has potential. I think the episodes that came before have some serious execution issues, but now that we know where it's going, they start making a little more sense.
Speaking of other seasons, I wonder what the connection to the other seasons will be...

Ryan Murphy has decided to edit out a mass shooting sequence in next week's episode.
American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy said he decided to recut the upcoming episode of the current season of the anthology Cult to tone down a mass shooting in the wake of the Las Vegas massacre.
“I believe I have the right to air it. But I also believe in victims’ rights and I believe that now is not the week to have something explosive or incendiary in the culture,” he said during a New Yorker Festival conversation with TV critic Emily Nussbaum. The shooting sequence was devised and shot months before the Las Vegas incident, he said. After discussions with Fox execs and other members of the team behind the show, the episode was re-edited to have the violence de-emphasized and occur largely off-screen.

So is the whole sequence cut or just edited down? It would seem hard to cut the whole thing unless it's just a fantasy/dream scene.

So now that everything has been revealed and we know who the "clowns" are... do we just get to watch Kai recruit people, rise to political power and make some psuedo-statmement about Trump being in charge?

FX confirmed today that tomorrow's episode will be substantially edited. You will only be able to see the Uncut version on demand or via FX Now app.
“In light of the tragedy last week in Las Vegas, Ryan Murphy and the producers of American Horror Story: Cult have chosen to make substantial edits to the opening scene of tomorrow night’s episode,” FX Networks said in a statement. “This opening, which was filmed two months ago and which portrays an occurrence of gun violence that has sadly become all too common in our country, contains a sequence that some viewers might find traumatic. Only the edited version of the episode will air on the FX linear channel, while the unedited version of the episode will be available on the VOD platform of your cable, satellite or telco provider, as well as on the FX Networks non-linear platforms, FXNOW and FX+.”

That's why I said I am waiting for a pivot ... seems as if we are too far along in the storyline with too many episodes remaining.
