Now that I think about it. It probably would've been cool to have Jamie died and burnt to a crisp.

It's "bad" when characters survive solely to make the audience happy or when they've been granted plot armor by the writers. Tyrion witnessing Bronn's death had potential top be one of the more moving scenes in the entire run of the show. Instead, he's a goddamn Superman, surviving Dothraki attacks, dragon fire, and a head-to-head showdown with a WMD. That's not good story-telling, man, it's fan service, something the first few seasons largely avoided.

Quick question...
Did the Iron Bank already get their money (did Jamie send the money ahead of his troops, missing the dragon attack)?
Or was the Bank just promised the money soon, but then it was set on fire by the dragon before it got there?

I thought only the supplies were set on fire, because the guy with the short grey hair told Jaime that the money had already been safely driven out of the area. I don't think the Bank had it just yet, but they will.

Yeah, the gold is at King's Landing, but it hasn't been handed over to the bankers yet. The battle suggested that the food has been destroyed though, so we'll have to see how that affects things.

Good ep. I think they said this is the shortest ep this season. I certainly did fly by...

One of the Youtube guys I follow for updates/explanations for GoT and other comic/Sci Fi/Hero shows made a great point about how Bran has gone full "Dr Manhattan". Sees everything, less human, Human connection is gone...

Yeah, which is fine, but there was no progression towards this. He was still normal after the Hodor thing, he was normal when hanging out with his uncle, he was normal when he got to the wall. Then suddenly out of nowhere, he becomes this despondent, distant being. Even Max VonSydow's 3 Eyed Raven wasn't like this.

Agreed.
I'm still enjoying the hell out of the show, but it's a shell of what it once was, mainly due to the writers/show-runners pandering to the audience and no more GRRM material to draw from. The show has gone Walking Dead-level dumb with its resistance to killing off major characters (a hallmark of earlier seasons) and its complete ignoring of a geography (that they even highlight in opening credits). Between the hurried pace, the lame and out-of-character one-liners and quips (which is all Davos seems to be used for this season...despite taking shelter at a place where he witnessed Stannis's daughter being burned alive...where the hell did the gravitas go??), the geography fails, the shitty acting, and the overall smallness of this season, I'm enjoying it a lot less than prior year installments.
But having said all that, it's still the most entertaining show on TV (perhaps ever).

I have a feeling that the GRRM and the writers have something special lined up for Davos before this is all said and done. Liam Cunningham has already proven that he can detonate with passion at least once already. When he finally goes out, and I think he will, it will be a Hodor-level event.

One of the best lines from the Reddit discussion thread:
Jon: "Ser Davos, how should we persuade Dany to join our fight against the Night King??"
Davos: "I minored in Art, Your Grace, give me some chalk and a few minutes."

I don't chime in much in the GOT threads, but last night was pretty awesome.
It was cool seeing Arya, Sansa and Bran finally reunite together after some time apart.
Loved the dragon and Dothraki attack at the end. I almost felt like the sequence had some influences from various Westerns. Very well directed sequence. It felt really grand like a feature film.
at Tyrion saying about Jaime...."Get away you fucking idiot" He's working with Dany, but doesn't want to see his brother turn into BBQ.
No way that Jaime drowns at the end. I also like Bron came in for the last second save.

that's how I heard it too.
That reminds me, though, of a funny thing last night. I couldn't make out the "chaos is a ladder" line so went back twenty seconds or so to re-listen. Suddenly, my TV had subtitles on it, for about the next 30 seconds, so it was easy to figure out. Is this some wacky HBOGo feature I have never experienced before?
