I assume one of those nukes is targeting DC. Unless it gets shot down I don't see how Tanz and Liam survive outside the bunker.

Our thought as well.

I don't think any nukes are coming. It will be revealed to be an attempted coup that faked the nukes coming. Maybe that hacker group Resist faked the satellite data. That is the easiest out for that ending if the show doesn't want to deal with nuclear fall-out.

Renewed for a 2nd season. Will air next summer.

I've watched 5 of the 13 so far from season 1 and will finish the rest of the season on Amazon Prime since it's available there to save DVR space. Not sure when I'll get to the rest, but at least it's there.

The deal with Amazon obviously helped it return.

I'm happy, I just hope they can keep the same vibe for season two and most of the same cast. The way season one played out, I expect some changes for season two.

Looking forward to this being back. It was great summer TV last year.

I initially savaged this show but decided to finally watch the final episode maybe 4-6 weeks back and admit it got a wee bit better as it went along. I am looking forward to Season 2.

I still need to finish up season 1.

We should be getting season 4 of Zoo right now too. It had become a summer staple for me despite being completely ridiculous. Hasn't CBS been having around 3 summer dramas the past few years, including Extant, Zoo, American Gothic, and that bug one? Seems they're down to one summer scripted show this year. I guess they had to get that Kevin Hart game show on the air.

Okay, no spoilers but Phantom may or may not be kinda sorta correct with his post. Also, that was one of the blandest hours of TV I have seen in a while...they need to get to the man on asteroid action soon.

It does not help that watching this show fairly shortly after watching The Expanse does it no favors as most TV (and quite a few sci-fi films) pale in comparison to The Expanse.

I can’t even remember if I finished season 1

This returns tonight.

Season 1 is still on Prime video. You can check there.

I haven’t finished it. I think I have 7 or 8 episodes to watch from season 1, but not sure if I can make the time. This completely fell off my radar after I went on summer vacation last year. And I’m still backed up on many others.

We decided to not Renew prime video for now.

I know this is damning Salvation with faint praise. I find it the most watchable of the many failed and recent CBS summer thrillers. The leads are all pretty good actors.

It's certainly watchable if you enjoy these over-the-top doom thrillers.

Compared to Zoo and Under The Dome I see your point that Salvation is the king of that mountain. If I was not interested in the cast I would walk away from the show.

I liked the 1st couple seasons of Zoo, then it went under and thankfully was killed. I never got around to watching Under the Dome.

Interesting question I'll have to ask my wife re: Salvation vs. Dome or Zoo (saw all of Dome and last 2 of Zoo) ...

I think so far (2 Eps) too many plots - US civil war 120 days before armageddon? What are they (the script writers) thinking? Go Dome or go home?

morriscroy 07-04-18 03:51 PM

Re: Salvation (CBS) -- Series Thread

This show feels like a very long drawn out version of the early parts of the 1998 movie Armageddon, interleaved with a political show like a dumbed down West Wing.

The plot twists and characters have been so bizarre that I've been rooting for the asteroid. Now the damn asteroid is the plot twist.

Re: Salvation (CBS) -- Series Thread

The TIVO guide claimed it was only a season finale but like many fringe CBS properties, Salvation's fate is up in the air with the change in network leadership. I'd be surprised if it came back.

I have no idea what that one younger actress did to get written out of the season's main storylines. She was dumped as the main love interest for the college guy. Probably the weirdest thing about this season was art imitating life. That minor actress involved with Alison Mack's cult came on in season two to play...a cult member.

Re: Salvation (CBS) -- Series Thread

And so the "asteroid" stops ... But hopefully not the series just to see the Dome fall from the sky and cover DC ... :)

I'm not surprised, but disappointed a bit.
