Launching on Friday, August 4, everywhere Netflix is available, the new eight-episode comedy brings us back to Camp Firewood and comes from the filmmakers behind the cult-classic movie and its prequel series. 10 Years Later is set in 1991 also stars original cast members from the film and/or 2015 series Elizabeth Banks, Paul Rudd, Marguerite Moreau, Janeane Garofalo, Amy Poehler, Chris Meloni, Ken Marino, Joe Lo Truglio, Molly Shannon, Michael Ian Black, Zak Orth, Michael Showalter, Kristen Wiig, Marisa Ryan, H. Jon Benjamin, Lake Bell, David Wain, A.D. Miles, Nina Hellman, John Early, Josh Charles, Sarah Burns, Beth Dover, Chris Pine, David Hyde Pierce, Eric Nenninger, Jason Schwartzman, Rich Sommer and Samm Levine

Bradley Cooper, however, won’t be back, though he’s in the trailer as part of the setup for the new series.

Ten Years Later also features a group of new characters played by Skyler Gisondo, Samm Levine, Mark Feuerstein, Marlo Thomas, Joey Bragg, Jai Courtney, Dax Shepard, Alyssa Milano and Adam Scott — reuniting with his Parks and Recreation wife Poehler.

...I'm actually surprised this is coming back already, for some reason I thought it was one of those "It might happen down the line." things.

Oh and I'm completely in.

I really enjoyed the prequel. I loved the absurdity of the cast trying to be their younger selves. This version will miss some of that, but it looks like there is still plenty of absurd to go around... :-)

Watching order?

1st series-->Movie__>2nd series?

That's chronological, I'd still watch the movie first. Some gags just work better without knowing their history up front.

Yeah, the prequel series is clearly aimed at people who have seen the movie.

Not to mention that a big joke of the prequels is how much older they already look from the movie.

I watched Season 1, loved it, and still haven't watched the movie.

The biggest surprise was how weird things got with H. Jon Benjamin and the cook. I knew of the movie for a long time, but didn't get around to watching it. Never knew it had those kind of elements. Everything else is about what I would have expected.

Wow. You should've watched the movie first. You would've probably loved the series even more.

Anyone else think it's weird that Netflix has put out an eight episode prequel show and an eight episode sequel show to Wet Hot American Summer without having the streaming rights to Wet Hot American Summer? I've never seen the movie, but I noticed this the other day and bought the digital HD copy for $5 in anticipation of this sequel.

They did have the rights to it at one point. I recall putting it into my queue when the prequel came out. I guess the rights expired since then.

Just checked, the original movie is now in rotation on Starz and is on their streaming service. Probably the reason why Netflix doesn't have the rights anymore.

I loved the majority of it until the final episode. The explanation of it all is just stupid, even for WHAS.

I still hate Katie!

I really haven't liked what they've done with Banks' character. I never cared for all the government plots either.
Still fun though and amazed these two series were even made. Paul Rudd is fantastic as always. And my close to 25 year crush on Marguerite Moreau continues...

Didn't like this nearly as much as I did the first season.

Once I relaxed and enjoyed the stupidity, it was fun - probably the least of the "Wet shared universe" but he good outweighs the bad. The political stuff got tiresome tho and I think the creators think the Reagan / Bush stuff is a lot funnier than it was.

Re: Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later (Netflix) -- premieres 8/4/17

Agree with most people on here - still had a lot of fun with it but tired of the Regan/Bush/Explanation bit but LOVED all the Paul Rudd, Adam Scott/MIB, Ken Marino and Joe Lo stuff. Episode 5 was probably my favourite - very stupid but funny. I still wish they could co-ordinate schedules to get people together for longer but I'll take what I can get. So stupid but I watched it all in 2 days and have no regrets. Also loved the David Hyde Pierce just at HIS home on skype moment - genius.
