Not sure how I feel about them probably ripping the origin of Catwoman straight from Batman Returns. Especially since it never made sense in that movie either. But till then I was really liking this series finally getting to somewhere familiar.

Here's a tiny little thing that just bugged me: Throughout the episode, Penguin and Ivy kept pronouncing "Victor Fries" name "Frys" (which is normally how you'd pronounce that spelling. However, it's always been pronounced "Freeze" as sort of a pun leading to his "Villain Name" "Mr. Freeze". I don't recall, -did they do that when he appeared in the show before?

I believe so. Maybe not like those two, but it seems like nobody except maybe Bullock flat out pronounced it Freeze.

With Batman Returns I always assumed Selena was just knocked out and had some type of brain injury and or a bit of a mental break based on what happened to her. I just found out a couple years ago that some people thought the cats brought her back to life. *Never saw that personally*

Sorry, but there is no logical way either Selena character survives those falls at all, or at least without all kinds of injuries beyond just a big bump on the head. The whole herd of cats, and how they bring her back, is just the groan inducing icing on the cake.

At least have some sort of explanation. But they didn't in Batman Returns and I don't expect they will in Gotham either.

It's a comic book show so I'm not sure how much logic one can expect. I have no problem with it even if it mirrored Batman Returns.

What's Catwoman's origin in the comics?

Yes, it's a comic book show. So let's at least have some kind of comic book explanation, even if it takes ignoring that it could never happen in reality.

Always felt like they were purposely aping Michelle Pfeiffer with her looks and hair style. So I was not surprised where this landed.

But it didn't really bother me.

I thought that at times, but then they would dress her and have her act more like Selena from The Dark Knight Rises.

Renewed for a 4th season: http://deadline.com/2017/05/gotham-t...-4-1202089450/

I have to believe at some point, we will get a time jump and Bruce will be recast. Probably not next season, but I think it's in the cards at some point.

I always figured it had something to do with cats having nine lives. In some weird way the cats "transferred" that to her so she now had eight more lives to go.

In the 60s Batman tv series they began by killing her each time she appeared under the pretense she had nine lives.

That was always my take as well which is why the Gotham version could work if Selena had been one of the Indian Hill victims. That's still a lot of cats for a only couple blocks in downtown Gotham, but at least it's an actual explanation that makes sense form a comic book perspective.

I looked up Catwoman on Wiki and from reading the article, there's no clear cut story on how she becomes CW. As in all comics, her origins story has changed many times over the years.

In TAS, Selina was a cat-burglar (literally)/animal activist. Thought was a pretty clever bent on the character.

It's just amazing to me that a show like Gotham is now considered appropriate for 8pm. I guess all the kids are off watching YouTube now.

Or watch it on DVR long after it actually airs. I couldn't cares less when anything is actually schedules anymore. JUust need to know when it will be available on DVR.

Besides, there are far worse examples in syndication where shows that ran on 10:00 pm supposedly for reasons like that are now on syndication stations at like 3:00 pm in the afternoon.
