It seemed out of character to me for Fring to be so quick to show his face.

Re: Better Call Saul (S3E03) -- "Sunk Costs" -- 4/24/17

Loved the plan to get the truck drivers busted.

Nice foreshadowing with the wheelchair in the Doctor's office.

Chuck fired Ernie for (unwittingly) playing his part in Chuck's scheme. Chuck is a completely loathsome creature.

Seems like Jimmy is being over-charged. Under the circumstances, I don't think there's any wahe wouldn't plea out to a misdemeanor. And the DA's office in Albuquerque is probably dealing with so much gang and drug crime that they aren't going to want to drag a simple domestic disturbance through the courts.

Chuck is holding the Bar over Jimmy's head, but if this goes to trial, it's also going to come out that Chuck is a flake who literally wears a tinfoil hat and is afraid of telephones. It will destroy Chuck's reputation and be huge black eye for HHM.

Yes, the lingering shot on the wheelchair was great. I too liked the plan to bust the truck drivers - but man did it need to go down without a hitch. With all that open space, it was predicated on the truck stopping w/in 15 feet or so of those hanging shoes. Liked that they closed out the cold opening w/in the episode - nicely done.

How long should it take? Hasn't he been scoping Mike out for weeks, maybe months. He's definitely known about Mike since the Salamanca incident last season, I don't know how long that's been in their time, but I would assume a while. Then Mike totally turning the tables on Gus and following him. Gus probably thought this is a guy I need to meet considering how smart he is.

Two cameos this week. Tyrus returned and was driving the vehicle behind Mike. The doctor is the one who worked on Gus and Mike after Gus poisoned the cartel.

Yeah, I noticed both of those.

The description of the prosecutor Jimmy will be facing as "tough, but fair" was a nice callback to the episode where Jimmy was talking Tuco out of killing the skateboarding brothers, and only breaking their legs.

Chuck is a fucking prick, and it was good to hear Jimmy tell him he'd die alone in the hospital.

Re: Better Call Saul (S3E03) -- "Sunk Costs" -- 4/24/17

I think there was a lot of foreshadowing this week.

While a lot of the characters... Jimmy/Saul, Mike, and Gus have plot armor since they're alive in Breaking Bad, we have to focus on the arcs of new characters like Chuck, Kim, and Nacho.

The wheelchair was an obvious nod to Tia Salamanca.

Chuck will end up forgotten and alone, slowly wasting away in a nursing home.

Kim will be disbarred. Last year we got her life's story, and I fear the small town girl with big dreams will eventually be eaten alive by two brother sharks. Jimmy tends to get innocent people caught up in his schemes, and Chuck will crush anyone who gets in his way. The callback to "Giselle" makes me think one of Slippin' Jimmy's scams may come back to haunt her. Wouldn't be surprised if "Gene" bumps into her at some point.

Nacho, who we haven't seen in a while despite Michael Mando still being in the main cast, will probably get killed. The Salamancas will either catch onto him, or he'll become a liability to Gus.

I have a feeling Nacho will have further involvement against Hector, and Tuco will take eventually catch on and take care of him.

As for future Gene, something to consider is we don't even know if law enforcement is even looking for him.

It will be interesting to see how Jimmy completely wrecks Chuck.

If he does. Perhaps the end of this series is future Jimmy taking his brother's advice and turning himself in, reconciling with his brother and Kim. I have a feeling the ending will be the opposite of BB.

Well we know he doesn't lose his law license. So the charges gets dropped or he wrecks him in Court and is found not guilty. I am guessing it goes to Court, he destroys Chuck's reputation.

His case also goes away depending on what Chuck wants to do. Perhaps he gets Mike to lean on him.

There has to be serious consequences for Jimmy since we know he loses his chance to practice elder law, and eventually becomes a criminal lawyer.

I don't see any way Jimmy gets disbarred.

There's no way he could still practice law in Albuquerque under a different name. Every lawyer in the city would know that Chuck's brother lost his license, so even he did manage to pull an identity theft scam, everyone would be onto him. Maybe he could pull it off he went somewhere else, but not in NM.

We don't know that those two things are related yet. It's quite possible he get himself off the hook in true "Saul Goodman" fashion, and his resentment towards his brother's actions is what sets forth Saul.

Yea, FWIW I was in a car accident a few years ago, which I talked about in the "Other forum". The other driver turned left into me and hired a lawyer to sue me regardless. Their case is a joke and has not gone forward at all but is still open.

The lawyer representing the other driver was convicted of fraud the year before my accident. She was on a suspended law license, which she got back a few weeks prior to my accident. In other words Jimmy could get a suspension, and re brand himself as Saul when it gets lifted.

It was a great episode overall, but this part was straight up ridiculous.

Wasn't there a stop sign there, which is why Mike chose that spot?

I'm pretty sure the spot was chosen because he was informed that they stash their weapons there. That and the fact that logically, they would have to stop at the STOP sign.

I apparently won some BCS Swag Bag from Sony Insiders for taking a survey about the show. I wonder what will be in it.

Re: Better Call Saul (S3E03) -- "Sunk Costs" -- 4/24/17

Yeah, there was a stop (alto) sign and that's where they made their pick-up/drop.

The biggest flaw I could see in the plan is if the drugs didn't pour out of the shoe after being shot. Seems more likely that the contents of the bag would just blow out the back with the bullet impact and not slowly pour out over the truck. But even then, the residue from a blowout might be enough for the dog to smell.
