The Americans (S5E06) -- "Crossbreed" -- 4/11/17

Episode 6 / Production #506 - "Crossbreed" (Airs April 11, 10:00 pm e/p) - Gabriel stuns Philip and Elizabeth with a sudden announcement and a crushing revelation about Philip's past. Stan and Aderholt draw a fly into their web, while Oleg and Ruslan ambush their first suspect. Written by Stephen Schiff; directed by Roxann Dawson.

Good episode, but I really hope the Mischa storyline wasn't just episode filler this season. The showrunners are too good for that, they've got to make Phillip and Mischa meet right?

Something about this show is losing me this season. After all the good stuff with getting Martha out last season, this one (for me) is like watching paint dry. I'm still in till the end, but it feels even slower than usual.

At least the producers build in bathroom breaks every time Henry & Stan sit down for a tv dinner and talk about girls & puberty.

Now, what we need is more of this:

I'm ok with the show. Yes, it's a slow burn, but I'm enjoying that so far.

What was the Peter Gabriel song at the end?

I know this is a slow burn for some who have doubts on this season, but the payoff always seem worth the ride.

It's interesting that Elizabeth would admit she doesn't feel right as she always holds her cards close to her vest.

Different strokes I guess, but we are still absolutely loving it. In fact, the deliberate pace that many seem to criticize is one of the things that makes this show so great.....

I guess I'm an episode behind and maybe shouldn't bump this at this point, but while I still LOVE this show, I just have a problem with Phillip being all torn up about killing the lab guy for no real reason. How is this death any different than when they killed the old lady in the Mail Robot repair place or the bus driver last season on the airport hand-off that didn't happen? It's not like they haven't killed innocent people before. I get that he has a conscience, but this is getting ridiculous given his past.

It was the straw that broke the camel's back ... and add in that they were wrong about the whole grain thing. Maybe he could justify the others as something bad (for the USSR) was prevented by those actions.
