Will wait until TMZ reports it. They are about the only real news source we have left. Sigh.

Will wait until TMZ confirms.
That is probably one of the worst written articles I have ever seen. |
Re: Richard Hatch (1945 - 2017) - UPDATE! May Not Be Dead!
^ That's what people are saying. Maybe it was an obituary file that would have been updated and proof-read after a confirmed death.

Re: Richard Hatch (1945 - 2017) - UPDATE! May Not Be Dead!
UPDATE: Okay, the writer of the Bleeding Cool article (Bill Watters) replied to a post I left on Facebook: "Asked by the family to hold until they have a statement ready."
Looking likely that Apollo has moved on. |
Re: Richard Hatch (1945 - 2017) - UPDATE! May Not Be Dead!
Damn, TMZ just confirmed it. Died of Pancreatic cancer. Was in hospice care.

Re: Richard Hatch (1945 - 2017) - UPDATE! May Not Be Dead!
I was a huge BG and A-Team fan purely because of him. A very underrated comedy actor. Guys like Nathan Fillion owe a lot to Hatch.

Also not the fat naked guy who won the first season of Survivor.

I think you're confusing him with this guy:

Re: Richard Hatch (1945 - 2017) - RIP
I actually thought it was the guy from first Survivor and thought why is he here.

Re: Richard Hatch (1945 - 2017) - RIP
Aside from Battlestar Galactica, he's also sort of known as Michael Douglas' replacement on The Streets of San Francisco. But that was almost 40 years ago and well before the time of most in this forum.

Re: Richard Hatch (1945 - 2017) - RIP
I thought he did a really good job as Jan Berry in Deadman's Curve (1978) which was a pretty good TV movie about Jan & Dean's music career. I would find myself watching that movie whenever it popped up on TV over and over again.

I did like his portrayal of Tom Zarek on the updated Battlestar Galactica.
Sad fucking Pancreatic cancer is such a shitty way to go. A colleague of mine from work was diagnosed with it recently. |

Bummer. Had no idea he was in poor health. He was a huge advocate for BSG (when a lot of people would have tried to distance themselves from a failed 1970's sci-fi series) and before the remake came along he put a lot of effort into relaunching the original series. He was great in the remake too. |

Loved him in both the original and rebooted BSG. Rip. |

Re: Richard Hatch (1945 - 2017) - RIP
Oh, hell. I am so bummed. I LOVE Richard Hatch. I grew up watching Battlestar Galactica and I still love that series. He was really good in everything that I've seen him in.
This so sucks. I always wished he could have at least gotten a mini-series made to complete the original Galactica with the original cast, but that never happened. And he was gracious and professional enough to appear on the rebooted Galactica a decade ago. So many of my favorite actors and musicians have been dying over the last 10 years. This one is particularly hard since I grew up with him on TV. So sad. |
Re: Richard Hatch (1945 - 2017) - RIP
This sucks. I just recently rediscovered and have been rewatching the original BSG, and have only recently discovered the new BSG.
