This episode was pretty much the Heatwave show and it was awesome. From his voice over at the beginning, to him telling George Washington about what being a real American is, to him getting a statue in DC. It was all awesome. I'm also digging evil Rip. Sarah had a real sleeping beauty quality to her. It always throws me when they dress her up in skirts or make her look feminine how pretty she is because they never really made her feminine in either Arrow or here.

Only negatives were it being a Christmas themed episode and Jefferson's bad acting when he was deciding to shoot Rip or not. With only six episodes left hopefully they speed things up and get Captain Cold back on the show soon.

I really don't need Evil Rip Hunter. Christmas theme was odd

 at the Rory monument from post American Revolution. Fucking hilarious.

I'm liking Evil Rip. I hope he stays Evil for the foreseeable future.

Yeah this being a Christmas episode was weird. But overall a fun episode.

Neat seeing Ray stuck at a little size, too bad they didn't do more with it besides running away from a rat.

Too bad Steel and Vixen didn't sex while using their powers. ;)

WHAT?! No Firestorm again. This is like the 5th or 6th episodes in a row without ol' flamehead.

Fuck yah! I thought that was the best episode of the series.

Should have been a Christmas episode... Or was it?

They've definitely improved Legends since last season. The show isn't taking itself so seriously and the guy playing Rip is much better as a bad guy.

Heatwave was funny with George Washington. Rory needs a straight man for his antics.

I thought the way they got Steele and Vixen together for sex was awfully abrupt.

I don't know what they're feeding the writers for this show these days but they should give them more. Lots of great moments in this episode. Rip does so much better as a villain (or anything else) than good guy Rip Hunter I would be ok with that as a permanent change.

Stein and Jefferson's exchange about the former not being a doctor and the latter not being a captain.

Ray telling Mick about the rat, and mini-Ray running from the rat later in the episode.

Steele and Vixen's attraction was handled pretty well - I think if they spent more time on it, people would complain about the show getting like Supergirl with its relationships.

The continued absence of Firestorm is a concern, but not a major one yet.

The show seems to have finally found its footing and I hope it continues on the same track.

I have not cast too much of a critical eye on this show this year, b/c it's largely been dumb fun. After last year's train wreck, I can live with dumb fun. I thought this episode was just a little too dumb.

So Firestorm can be taken out with an EMP?

Didn't for a second buy the Uhura-Scotty relationship introduced and consummated within this episode. Don't you guys have more important things to be doing...

Ok...so last year Rip Hunter defied the time lords and gathered a motley crew of wannabe heroes to try to save his wife and defeat Randal Savage. They failed multiple times and barely won at the end sacrificing one of their own as well not succeeding in saving Rip's family. And in all of that time Rip possessed the "spear of destiny" which could have easily accomplished his goals.

He only possessed a piece of it, and he probably didn't know what it is supposed to be able to do.

Martin and Jax need that matrix device to successfully remain stable as Firestorm. That plot device should have already been written out of their characters by now.

Rip is actually tolerable as a bad guy. Hopefully that continues for as long as they keep the character around. They can write him off when he is defeated. The sex scene was even more ridiculous than the usual CW hookups. They didn't have time for a second go 'round? :sarcasm:

Maybe but I think it was historically accurate.

Have been loving the new voiceovers (LoD and Rory). Looking forward to more of those style shenanigans. :)
