Didn't know he was living before he pass away. Should have him on my dead pool list.

I remember the show being on both originally and in syndication, but I never watched it. Looked like a solid show, though, and the times I've seen Mike Connors in other things he was always fairly good.

Joe Mannix also made an appearance on Diagnosis Murder, with that episode written as a sequel to an episode of Mannix from more than 20 years earlier. That's pretty cool.

If you have insomnia it's on MeTV in the middle of the night. Haven't seen it since it aired on CBS Saturday nights. Only thing I recall is that it seems Mannix got shot in either the arm or leg every episode.

The late Gail Fisher who play Mannix's secretary was the first African-American woman to win an Emmy Award.

I would periodically watch these on TV Land back in the day. Didn't watch it when it originally aired, but enjoyed them for what they were. :rip:

MANNIX had a Cool-Jazzy opening theme.

I know I'm very late here but I just joined & I can't help myself....I've only seen a few episodes of mannix but I've seen practically every episode of Gunsmoke. There is absolutely no way on earth that any tv character got shot more than marshal Matt Dillon. Heck, he must've gotten shot 60 times in the left arm alone...not as much in the right because he still had to shoot with that hand.

In the last month, 2 people at my work passed away in their 30s. Anyway who dies at 91 has done well

Good on him, no need to be sad

I remember he drove a cool firebird and in one episode he was in the bad guys place with guns on racks on the wall and even though he lost his, doesn't pick up one of the guns.

I can't comment because I can't remember how often he got shot but it was a pretty common theme back then to constantly be shot then be perfectly fine the next episode.

I really need to take Ginko or something. I saw the name and immediately thought of "The Rifleman". What a difference a first name can make.

Spoiler:
Yep, I was thinking of Chuck Connors

Even though it sucked how bad life was at the end, both my parents had good runs, 82 and 84. Can't be too upset about decent numbers like that let alone 91. My hope for him and for my family, that whatever number it is, it's (was) good up until the end. Not all that dementia and assorted other diseases that made the last few years so miserable for my mother. I hope he was playing golf the week before he died. He was the quintessential man's man from that era. Would hate to see him be a drooling idiot.
