It's being produced in conjunction with Marvel Television, a division of Disney. Disney's lawyers are doing everything in their power to kill the X brand across all mediums since they don't own movie rights to those characters.

Notice how Legion, another show produced in conjunction with Marvel Television, hasn't made a single reference to the wider X-Men universe. I don't think it's coincidence.

Yeah there must be some mandate not to use the X. There's no way to even tell this is XMen/mutant related (besides the Marvel logo) though they heavily promote Singer's involvement like they really want you to make the connection, they just can't say it.

I don't understand why there would be a restriction on using the X. There's an X-Men logo within the logo for Legion.

I'm kinda torn. On the one hand this doesn't look bad. On the other, if they really don't lean heavily into the X-Men connection, it's basically going to be nothing more than Heroes 2.0
