This is from people behind such films as Another Earth, The East, Sound of My Voice.

I am a big fan of Brit Marling. I think she is really talented.

I never saw The East as it didn't look particularly interesting, but I did love watching Sound of My Voice unfold.

I'm a big fan of Brit Marling as a producer.

The East was one of the better films of 2013. Catch it if you can. Like Sound of My Voice and her other projects, it unfolds in a very interesting and unpredictable manner.

Looks good. 8 one hour episodes? Looks like perfect for the holidays.

I thought The East was great. One of my favorites of that year for sure.

She's so talented and I love her story: Didn't want to be another blonde babe on the hero's arm in the movies, so she decided to make her own films.

Just watched first 2 episodes. Show is really good. Very layered, too. The cinematography is fantastic.

This show does take its time. I really liked the ending just not quite sure if the journey was worth getting there. I feel this could've been six episodes. It was nice seeing Paz Vega.

Been waiting to hear from you guys on this. I have no idea who Brit Marling is and no clue what the show is about after watching the trailer.

Finished. I think I need a couple of days to think about that ending.

Blind woman who disappears for years, turns up s and her eyesight has returned. She has to recruit five people to help with a mission, of sorts. The show bounces back/forth between present time and the past as she tries to convince them to help her. They gather together in an abandoned house every night for her sessions.

See, I liked the journey much more than the ending. I didn't hate the ending--I just saw it coming that there would be the kind of twist-and-then-twist-again ending that we got. Exactly how it occurred was a surprise, though.

I thought Prairie's story was really engrossing and well-told and it takes the viewer on the same journey as the kids and 'BBA' in the show. It's an utterly crazy and ridiculous story, but the fantastical parts build up gradually enough that you kind of go along with it and accept that it's real.

I think this shares some similarities with The Sound of My Voice, which I really loved.

It wasn't the kind of show I expected. I was expecting something else, for some reason.

But I liked it. And I LOVED the finale.

My wife hated the finale. She wants her "8 hours" back. (The show is less than 8 hours)

I'm sure people will wrote great essays about the show.

I kinda love and hate the ending all at once.

It was a great binge watch, just wanted to keep gong and see it play out, but left a bit disappointed. To many dangling threads. Why she jump off bridge, why leave doors open... things like that.

Re: The OA (Netflix) - creators: Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij

After a couple of days I'm liking the show, and the ending, more.

It's not an A->B show. It's open to a lot of interpretation.

My biggest question is: why after episode 5, the episode length is that short?

mphtrilogy 12-20-16 07:53 PM

Re: The OA (Netflix) - creators: Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij

I enjoy the fact that each ep is not the same cookie cutter length.

Finally finished it, so whats up with that ending?

No show about the Green Lantern corps? I'm disappointed.
