Exactly. It had no depth to it. It just looked like they painted a black gelatin over his eye.

My wife is a huge Negan fan, she couldn't stop laughing at all his lines.
I thought the episode was OK, but I watched it after the Westworld finale so...

So Michonne thinks she is Omar?
Corals eye make up looked terrible.
The fact that Coral didn't take a shot on Negan when he had a chance is ridiculous. You don't go through all that and then hesitate. Negan should've been using a human shield all along to make it more believable.

It would have been better if when the back of the truck opened up Negan was not in Carl's (admittedly reduced) line of site and off to a side of the truck. Carl could have still heard his voice but not seen him, and demanded Negan show himself. But unless I'm mistaken Negan was hovering around in the crowd easily visible to Carl. It made no sense whatsoever that Carl wouldn't shoot, unless it was meant to say Carl had a hard time shooting someone down not in self-defense or as a reflexive reaction (like the other two Negan men).

It's like Negan has been plucked from a completely different show or movie and been randomly placed in the Walking Dead universe. JDM wasn't the right choice for this role. He's lost a lot of weight in the past decade and almost looks sickly walking around. It's ludicrous that dozens of tough men are cowed by Negan's leadership and presence.

Yes, only starting this year. It's not in the main series, but is being revealed in 4 page installments month to month within the Previews for Image Comics.

I came here to post much the same sentiment as you expressed.

Dear Mr. Gimple & Mr. Kirkman,
We get it that Negan is a sadistic, scary villain as you beat us over the head (no pun intended) with these wasted Episodes.
How about giving a backstory on Negan as you did with The Governor instead 90 minutes of him fucking with Carl.
That may have been worse then the Tara Episode.

I enjoyed this episode for the most part. It has more than 1 story line and didn't bore me all that much.
But yea, Carl not killing Negan right away made absolutely no sense. That's the whole reason he went there, and didn't have any qualms about killing a couple people who worked for Negan... but just stood there like an idiot for 25 whole seconds when he had the chance to kill the person directly responsible for the cruel deaths of two of his friends, and other atrocities. It's like infiltrating the Nazis - killing 2 bodyguards and then admiring Hitlers moustache for 25 seconds before other Nazi's bring you down. Fucking writers have to make the scenes plausible.
Glad we're not seeing Morgan/Carol in la-la-land. I have absolutely no interest in that place.
The writers/director(s) are making a huge mistake with Negan. He's MUCH more annoying/comical than he is scary/threatening. You want to pepper the zaniness lightly... so he's a little off-kilter, crazy and VERY menacing/dangerous. He's starting to feel like a sitcom character.
I wonder if the actress who plays Tara is going to scold the writers for making Negan a fat-shamer.

That was already openly posted last week. Not sure why people think posting these new stories are not spoilers, but it happens all the time.
I too think the casting of JDM was a big miss from a body type perspective, but IMO he making up for it in other ways. Not sure what Michone thinks she is going to do, but having heard a little of what happens in the comics, I hope it goes down that path in some way.

Oh come on, this is the same show that posts social media tributes to dead characters before the show even airs on the west coast. Do you think they care about spoilers?

I'm aware of that and avoid it as much possible until I'm able to watch the recent episode. Same goes for any news reports coming out about the show that obviously affect the episodes for the rest of the current season or future seasons.

Well I just spoiled this whole damn season for myself by reader the spoilers......Hate when I do that shit, knew I shouldn't come in here.
Oh well, good episode - still doesn't make up for that bullshit episode last week - that was inexcusable - so, the main cast works 5 episodes a season now? What happened, did they ask for too much money??
I like Negan but JDM needs to bulk up a bit.

I fell asleep several times. I'm going to have to watch this again. What little I saw was ok. JDM is cool and had some pretty funny/creepy lines but this Negan thing is still managing to drag along to me.
