1) If they follow the comics, which they more or less are doing , Negan will be around for a while.
2) I determined last week that Negan comes across as a live-action version of the kind of villain one would find in an 80s/90s animated Don Bluth or Disney cartoon. Basically, a big ham who actually kills people. Morgan plays the role to perfection, but that may not be a good thing.

This episode had a serious case of Sonsofanarchyitis. Regardless of what's in the comic, they really don't need to do much more taunting by Negan of Rick and his crew. We get it.

I'm liking this season so far.
And I still have "Easy Street" stuck in my head from last week...

If it's pussy Rick every week, I might be done or at least wait for the season to be over and bling watch.

A bit surprised at the spoiler in next week's preview.
I know the backlash would be utter carnage, but had I been in Rick's position I think there's a very good chance I'd have used Lucille on Negan. Especially during the armory scene when they weren't surrounded by his men.

And this is the sort of stuff I got so bored with the comics with. I get it, Negan is evil. I get it Rick is broken. whatever. if this shit gets drawn out it'll lose a lot of interest. Especially given that if it's going off the comics, this is going to be a long time of this shit.

Count me among those who are rapidly getting tired of Negan's inane rambling and tangents. I understand this is the character and he just loves fucking with Rick and his crew, but he's basically a Troll meme come to life. And I really like Jeffrey Dean Morgan, so I've got nothing against his performance, just the character.
I think I definitely would have taken Lucille to his head at one point, consequences be damned.

Didn't Carol take a gun with her too? I'm guessing it was one that wasn't in the accounting list. So Rick didn't realize that Carol, Morgan, Heath, and Tara are also not there?
So I'm guessing Maggie is staying at the Hilltop now.

Let me ask this for the sake of conversation ...
Did Rick's finding and surrendering of the guns further undermine him? I believe it did ... Had he (and Olivia) stuck with "they are with the folks who aren't here" line it would have been credible (unless the Saviors intercepted them without the guns). As it is, Negan pressed him and the guns "magically" turned up. That made it look as if Rick were trying to proactively hide the guns and leads to more mistrust.
Glad to see others are finally coming around on the Rick-loathing. He has been this despicable for a long time.

Sorry, but I wholeheartedly disagree with the notion that Rick should have tried to used Lucille on Negan. If he had, it would have been bye bye Daryl. He completely blames himself for Glen and Abraham. Do I like seeing Rick act this way? No, but he doesn't see a way of winning (right now anyway).
I didn't get those were mattresses at first either, they looked like stone slabs. Wish I wouldn't have watched it live, because the alternating 5 minutes of show then 3 of commercials was ridiculous.

I would have just shot Negan through the gate and opened fire from all sides with every available gun. Sure Daryl would probably been another victim, but it is what he would do. Better to cut off the head and deal with the infighting it would create and the fractured Saviors than eat shit and lose all of your weapons and live on your belly to a psychopath.

Thank you! It is nice to know I'm not the only one who couldn't tell what it was (I thought plane crash at first too). I used to blame it on the fact that I didn't get AMC in HD, but it seems as if I miss a lot of odd details like this. Is it just poor staging/cinematography or am I just getting that damned old that I can't see?

And don't even get me started on Carol.
I'll keep the season pass. My shitty cable doesn't carry AMC in HD (welcome to 2005!) so it won't take much room if I decide to go back to it later. I won't be surprised if I don't though.

I didn't have a problem identifying the mattresses but there did seem to be something off about them.

I feel like Neegan is a TWD forum internet troll come to life and I love it, lol. I guess if I actually gave a shit about any of the characters at this point he would be annoying or intimidating, but I just don't. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard watching this show before.

I'm waiting for him to full Randy Macho Man Savage, "Ooo yeahhhh Rick!"
And I was actually hoping Negan killed Carl after he copped an attitude with him. But Carl seems untouchable despite nobody I know liking him anymore.

Morgan's Negan is a little over the top. Every time he talks it's like so grandiose. Kinda grating but still loving this season...

If anyone wants some big comics spoilers, they're below. Be warned:
But who knows how the show might deviate from the comic.
