I'm eating jerky right now. Mmmm-hmmmm.

I have nothing else to look forward to. Guess I'll stay up late two nights in a row watching American horror stories.

I guess there's not much left to say about this one. It is what it is at this point.

I was fine with the faux reality tv style this season. But I absolutely hated the super shaky cam with the viral star wannabe idiots.

There's one more episode? Don't see what more story there is left to tell. Maybe a wrap up episode in the context of the second season of "Roanoke Nightmare" (which presumably all of what we are seeing is supposed to be a part of). That doesn't sound particularly interesting though.

Finally watched it. The lack of comments here says quite a bit.

The final episode appears to be the aftermath with Lee. It looks to be her on a talk show after the murders. I'm betting it is her promoting Season 2.

No matter what happens next week, I can't say I'm inspired to go back to watch past seasons or stick around for future ones.

Have you watched past seasons? They all vary in tone, so I wouldn't judge the whole series on this season.

I guess your enjoyment of this season depends on your view of the whole found footage/reality show/Internet phenom genre. Add torture porn and gratuitous gore to the stew and I'm just not feeling this season. I appreciate the creators changing it up, but I'm glad this one is almost done. Also, I never thought I'd say this, but I thought Angela Bassett's performance this season was shrill and unpleasant.

Sorry, thought I had replied to to this ... No. Aside from 10-15 atrocious minutes I watched in a hotel one night (coincidentally, I think it was the Hotel season) I am an AHS virgin.

I figured this one may inspire me to go back and watch past seasons. Given the nature of this paired with the eclectic topics for previous seasons, I am not really buying in.

This season is bery different from the first five. The first five had all kinds of stuff going on; each season was almost Altmanesque, like Short Cuts or Nashville, where there about five interconnected stories going on at once.

Damn. Char broiling those kids.

Hardest thing with telling a story confined to a property: keeping them on the property. I'm the logical black lady in the theater telling the characters to get the hell out. Like the first episode in season one. I'd be all like, "hey gang, let's go to the store. We'll totally be right back."

I will NEVER understand complaints about Gore and torture in a series called American HORROR Story.

It's not just the genre choice. Even as a fan of found footage stuff, I think they did a terrible job with it. The show only had to fill 4 episodes with the premise and they began spinning their wheels almost immediately. There was no build up, no suspense. It went from 0 to 100 right away. A real waste if you ask me. I would have ditched this after episode 8 if my girlfriend wasn't into watching it.

Some shows are just bad but the ones that really drive me nuts are the ones that set up a good premise but totally fuck it up. This is where this season of AHS falls.

"Gore" is a sub-genre of horror, sure, but the two are hardly synonymous. Some gore in every horror movie may be a given but not like the over the top gore that movies like Saw and Hostel popularized and AHS is trying to emulate.

There is SO much gore, it's almost desensitizing. Hard to explain... but Conjuring 2 was horror, AHS is pushing boundaries for the sake of pushing boundaries. Do we need an hour of Lee being turned into jerky?

The 2000 election would be more suited to American Crime Story.

Re: American Horror Story: Roanoke (S6E09) -- "Chapter 9" -- 11/9/16

The gore and tense torture scenes have finally made this a horror show... Now if only they had done it well.

Could just be me because I can't stand the whole found footage BS where there is terrible lighting, bad angles, and you can hardly ever tell what the hell is going on. Plus, just like this show they hardly ever stick to it. Scene after scene where it's supposed to be somebody's phone recording the footage and then they switch to your typical TV show camera for a third person view of the action.

I guess all the rumored previous seasons connections are coming in the finale. Probably having Paulsen's psychic show up in yet another season at a minimum. That one has been done to death already.

To me she's always come off that way in all the AHS seasons. It's to the point where I would think she would refuse to play the same shrill bitch over and over.

But even Bassett has tolerable compared to Paulsen this season. Given how awesome she was in the OJ series that it's come as quite a shock.

Only two of the regulars that I really enjoyed this season was Peters and O'Hare, and they were ridiculously small parts.
