That poster may be the best thing to come out of this ...
Still watching the World Series ... Guessing everybody else is too! |

I almost couldn't handle the tooth-pulling stuff. Made me cringe much more than the Negan scene did.

This show has just become torture porn... it's pointless, plot-less and meddling along. There is literally no point anymore other than to see how they all die. Good thing there are only two more episodes because I can only stomach so much of this stuff.

Why does the Polks' dwelling have ceiling cameras?

So they can pound off later

Re: American Horror Story: Roanoke (S6E08) -- "Chapter 8" -- 11/2/16
I'm still confused on how they could fill 2 more episodes worth of content in to this basic torture porn.

Am I alone in thinking that this season feels like a Chiller-grade horror movie stretched out to ten hours?

It almost feels like they shot the whole thing over a week. Like hey...we just wrapped O.J. wanna come do something quick after that? It is kind of refreshing to me just from the sheer fact of how over the top and convoluted the previous seasons have been. 10 episodes...no breaks... I did dig that.

Re: American Horror Story: Roanoke (S6E08) -- "Chapter 8" -- 11/2/16
It's not that the last few episodes have been all that bad but it's definitely been a huge wasted opportunity. There were a lot of directions they could have gone with the found footage premise and they chose one that isn't very interesting.

Re: American Horror Story: Roanoke (S6E08) -- "Chapter 8" -- 11/2/16
I think it is pretty evident that we are watching the "second season" and it isn't "real." It may be that some "actors" weren't in on it and maybe some of it got out of hand, but there have been several tells that it is not "real as presented":
*Bleeping of language *Maintenance of "found footage" continuity at times when it makes no sense *The suddenly ham-handed overacting of the fake Shelby and Matt *Of course, personal assistant piggy boy at the door at the end Just to be consistent, I will once again lament: why am I still watching!? As was said last week, I am somewhat of a completionist and a knowing victim of sunken cost fallacy. I'm this far in already, I need to make sure it is as bad as I have thought so far. If it weren't for DVR I wouldn't be hanging on; this certainly isn't appointment TV. It definitely is not inspiring me to go back and watch past seasons. |

I'm surprised that I'm the only one here loving this season. Actually it might be my favorite so far. I never considered that these last couple of episodes could've been a sequel season. Makes sense though.

We have been told that we're watching another "program" (a show within the show), just as we were with the first half of the season. The footage from the various sources has been edited together after the incidents occurred to tell a story. We've already had an title-card telling us that only one person survived.

I'm sure you're not, but this is the first season since "Asylum" that's actually worked for me (so far). Thankfully, they're stopping at ten eps, though eight might have been better. Obviously, they're twisting it some more next week, and we'll see how that goes...

At the end the camera pans out and the Hotel staff are watching it on TV. ;) |

This season would have played out smoother over 5-7 episodes. AHS has always had problems managing arcs beyond that range. I guess FX demands a certain number of episodes.

I've been noticing this too; Audrey's "British accent" is so totally fake. Never occurred to me that maybe this is an indication that "Return to Roanoke" is just as fake as My Roanoke Nightmare was.

Why did the two go back onto the property? There was one hillbilly left floating around, right? I would have taken my chance with the hillbilly. Did I miss something?

I think Troy meant why did they go back to the main house. My guess is they just wanted to get the hell away from the hillbillies and potentially reconnect with people they know. They had no idea how many hillbillies were at the house.

The very last episode will be the cast party. And then they will all be slain by the real real ghosts that show up.

I have ten different ideas of what happens in the final episode. But with this show, I have NEVER been right about a prediction.
