In other programming news, TBS has set Halloween night, Monday, Oct. 31, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), for the premiere of its other-worldly ensemble comedy People of Earth, starring Wyatt Cenac (The Daily Show). To build interest even further, TBS will encore the first season during the weeks of Christmas and New Year's, while also making all 10 episodes available on demand the night of premiere to encourage binge viewing.

Anyone else watching this? I think it's great. It wasn't on my radar at all, but I saw a couple of previews and decided to check it out on-demand.

It's been pretty good.
It was great seeing H Jon Benjamin. I was looking away from the screen when his character first showed up so all I heard was his voice and I said to myself, "Archer?"

It's not bad. Worth a look.

I just DVR'd the first season and am half way through. Enjoying it quite a bit, especially the guys on the ship.

Just cranked through s01 in a few days. I liked it!
Funny and quirky enough to have me looking forward to s02.
Jeff the alien is comedy gold...

The first season is watchable, though the show is more endearing than laugh-out-loud funny. The actor playing Ozzy is very likable. I get a vibe from the show as Parks and Recreation about aliens visiting Earth.

I'm a big fan of this show. It's like the X-Files but a comedy. And there's a certain creepiness to it as well. It's addicting to me. Here's a Facebook group for the show BTW - facebook.com/peopleofearthfans

TBS's hit comedy People of Earth will return for its second season on Monday, July 24 at 10:30 p.m. (ET/PT). Executive-produced by Emmy(R) winners Conan O'Brien and Greg Daniels, along with creator David Jenkins and showrunner Norm Hiscock, the series centers on a group of alien abductees - or "experiencers" - living in the small town of Beacon, N.Y. New cast member Nasim Pedrad joins returning cast Wyatt Cenac, Ana Gasteyer, Oscar Nuñez, Michael Cassidy, Alice Wetterlund, Luka Jones, Brian Huskey, Nancy Lenehan, Tracee Chimo, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Björn Gustafsson and Ken Hall.

I liked the first two episodes of the season. Gerry and Jeff were funny on the ship. I have the feeling that Ozzie will eventually be paired with the FBI agent.

I enjoy this show despite finding it only mildly funny. It's refreshing to find a show where most of the characters are likable people. It's not the mean style of comedy that has become so common.
The show does work best when the story is centered around Ozzie. I wonder if the FBI agent has an alien experience.

Based on the flashback, my take is that her mother was abducted and gave birth on the ship. Maybe something went wrong and the mother died and the aliens abandoned her at that store.

I was surprised the writers went there. It looks like they are trying to change up the format of the show.

I like the ensemble cast but the show was about Ozzie. This has to be a money issue or something. Often in these ensemble shows with no real lead the contract will have an out for theatrical work.

Wait, so Ozzie's death is real? I was sure that he was gonna be brought back some how.

Wow, that is one of the more disastrous creative decisions a television series has made since they got rid of Bo and Luke on Dukes of Hazzard for replacement actors.

Based on articles and interviews it's real, bu somewhere the show's EPs gave some small hope about them playing with "back from the dead" trope.

Renewed for season 3.

I have been enjoying the past few episodes even though Ozzie is gone. The storyline with Agent Foster has been quite interesting and Nasim was a great addition to this season. The alien experiencer expo episode was pretty funny.
