Are there any new Sitcoms at all ?

Seems all the new shows are movie remakes or dramas/procedurals

Are there any new sitcoms at all ?

I have yet to watch it but I hear good things about Speechless

And I only watched the premiere but I thought Son of Zorn was pretty funny too.

There's that Kevin James show on CBS. That "Housewife" show on ABC. "Speechless", "The Good Place". Matt LeBlanc has a new show.

"The Good Place" is the only one I'm bothering with.

kevin can wait is crap

will check out the matt leblanc show, man with a plan, but expecting that will be crap, but will tune in to confirm

the good place is high concept, has some laughs, but same creator as community if that's your cup of tea..

Does Atlanta count? It's the only new show I picked up.

The Good Place is my favorite of the season so far, there's also Kevin Can Wait, American Housewife, Speechless, The Great Indoors, Man with a Plan, Legends of Chamberlain Heights, and Son of Zorn

Comedy dominates the schedule, if you aren't talking about specifically the three-camera stage-show format. American Housewife, Downward Dog, The Good Place, The Great Indoors, Great News, Imaginary Mary, Kevin Can Wait, A Man with a Plan, Marlon, The Mick, Powerless, Son of Zorn, Speechless, Trial & Error.

Re: Are there any new Sitcoms at all ?

thanks guys

Speechless and the Good place sound just from the summaries a bit too serious for me, special needs kids etc

I want something fun and silly like How i met your mother/my name is earl/everybody hates chris/still standing/til death etc

I watch Blackish, Modern Family and 2 broke girls

My dream would be more rude and crudes like the League and it's always sunny but that's a pipe dream i know

The Good Place isn't serious, at all. It's mostly just silly (the second episode was a little too silly actually, but the other 3 have been solid). It may be a little too outlandish though, as you seem to enjoy the more grounded ones.

You should try The Detour (which I loved) and Wrecked (which I thought sucked, but it seems popular around here) as well

You're the Worst might be up your alley.

Son of Zorn isn't a classic sitcom but its humor is almost all a riff on the sitcom format.

I've liked the first two episodes for what it's worth. The show places a He-Man character as your standard sitcom dad.

Really liking The Good Place, Speechless and Son of Zorn - none of these are 'serious' at all...yeah we might get a few life lessons thrown in but even though there is a special needs kid as one of the leads on Speechless, it is totally and tonally on brand with ABC's other good family sitcoms (middle, goldbergs, blackish, fresh off etc.)

Not Dan Harmon. Michael Schur had nothing to do with Community. Michael Schur created The Good Place, and also created Parks and Rec, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He also wrote for and recurred on the Office.

Speechless has potential. The Good Place as well. Kevin Can Wait has been done before, which means that will be the one that lasts of the three.

Except that show gets serious as fuck at times. Like, most of last season.

The Detour on TBS, which aired this past summer, sounds like the type of comedy you're looking for. If you haven't already seen it.

Slapstick humor with toilet and sex jokes on a disastrous family road trip.

Thanks Djariya, after you put me onto Banshee and Strike back, i know you know my tastes :)

I checked out the first episode of the Detour, it has potential, i like the characters, not yet sold on the premise.

Also not sure about 50 percent of the cast being children

The kids on The Detour are hilarious. Definitely one of the best things about the show.
