I was so excited to watch this tonight… And I started watching it, then my sister called. Guess I'll have to catch it online tomorrow.

Don't you live in the West coast? It airs at 10pm PT. You still have time to watch it.

It was on Sundays last season.

I do, but I had made plans to go out. I'm still shocked it is on Sundays. Seems like such a strange night to put it on.

I thought it was fairly forgettable for a season premiere.

... okay, so this is a massive BUMP... but I have to say that I did not see that coming (in regards to the last scene of the episode on 3/26).

Wow!

This season the storylines have been a little "all over the place" but the acting is still great.

JLM and LL are still fantastic after all these seasons!

From the episode two weeks ago: Sherlock hasn't heard of Eric Clapton? Really? That's a cheap ripoff from the BCC Sherlock. The CBS version would definitely know who that was.

I've liked most of this season as stand alone episodes but don't care too much about the SBK arch. I can't see a happy ending for Shinwell. It's ether prison or the grave at this point.

They can't get rid of Shinwell soon enough for me. He has been dragging down a somewhat uneven year as it is. The SBK arch has been terrible.

I actually gave up watching Elementary this season because of his character's meandering arc.

This show likes taking third-string characters for some reason and making them a recurring feature of the season. Shinwell is one of those characters that should have never gotten more than 2-3 episodes, max. It's just not an interesting direction for Sherlock and Joan.

Elementary is up in the air for renewal on CBS. It's very possible this is the last season.

Well, you got your wish... now they'll spend a few eps solving this case.

... and that Shinwell really is dead...

... and who is May?

I just finished binging season 5. Mostly enjoyed it, though I agree with the above posts that the whole Shinwell/SBK story arc was bad. RIP Nelsan Ellis, though.

Nice to see Kitty back for a couple of episodes.

Now we know who May is... and that it isn't really her. It will be an interesting direction to go, if Sherlock has a tumor or some neurological condition. He won't be able to trust his own thoughts, memories, and deductive abilities.

I'd really like to see Moriarty and Morland in this upcoming season, since their stories are kind of intertwined.

Looks like the new season won't air until early next year, and it's only 13 episodes.

I assume it's the last season then.

Another possibility (besides midseason filler), is if another fall show is abruptly canceled. Easy to just slot it in, assuming various advertisers agree to it.

The actress that played Kitty is the lead on Hooten and The Lady, on the CW. For some reason I've liked her much better on that show than Elementary.

I'll check that show out, but it looks like it's one-and-done.

I certainly hope so. They last half of the previous season was a chore to get through. They need to use those 13 episodes to quickly wrap up whatever they are doing with this seeing things plot and wrap It all up. Would be great to see all the reoccurring characters show up for a couple more episodes each. At least Natalie Dormer please!

Re: Elementary (CBS) -- Season 5 Thread -- Premieres 10/2/16

Not sure if there is a current season thread for Elementary, but I just wanted to chime in that the show got itself back on track and the past 13 episodes have been fairly strong. The show went from being a chore to watch to being fun again, and so far the show is on a trajectory to go out on a high note.

I will miss when it is gone but I am also pleasantly surprised that it has had as long of a run as it had because it seemed to be one of those always on the bubble shows.
