Can't say I hate it but it wasn't great. Villains are corny.
I hope Iron Fist is much better than Luke Cage. Can't wait to see how the Chinatown scenes look like on screen since it's filmed on the same block as my kids' school.

Six episodes in and I'm enjoying this more than Jessica Jones. The plot is a bit predictable but the supporting cast is better and I like the setting and style. JJ had a better main character and villain but it also had a contrived plot and probably should have only been 8 episodes at the most. Both of these shows are still a notch below the two seasons of Daredevil.

He feels like a different character than he was on Jessica Jones. Almost like this series is a prequel to JJ, but it's not, so it's like he's regressed.

I'm up to Episode 8 and still not blown away. It's ok but a bit boring, characters a bit bland, Misty is getting annoying, the guy playing Luke cage is decent but lacks that bit of charisma. Cannot stand the Mariah counselwomen character.

I've watched this over the last 5 days and while I was a bit bored at times, I loved the use of music, the locations, and the actors were very good (at least Pop, Cottonmouth, Meriah, Shades, and Claire) but hated the liberal-over-peppering of the n-word (but I was expecting it).
My main problem with this show came in episode 9:
All I have to say is "Oh… sweet Christmas."
Daredevil S1 - A-
Jessica Jones S1 - B+
Daredevil S2 - B
Luke Cage S1 - B

The first half of the series was fantastic;
Harlem was a character in the first half, but became a caricature of itself in the second. The last episode ending montage aimed for a Wire-like profound ending but came off as something out of a Hallmark movie.
The best grade I can give the last half is a B. The creator should have taken over the finale and not just do the first two episodes and at least have the pay-off work.

The first half of the series was fantastic; sadly that ended as soon as.................... Diamondback made no sense at all. In the first half of the series he was a shadowy all-business scary guy. But as soon as he showed up he repeated every mistake he didn't allow others to make.

Finally finished it
6/10 Weakest Marvel product since the MCU was created
I think Cage will be better in the Defenders

finally finished it last night, loved it. the ending was a bit cheesy, but all this comic book stuff in inherently cheesy, so not a big deal.

I liked parts of Agents of Shield and Agent Carter better then Luke Cage. All three of them had issues, in my opinion. Cage certainly has much better production values, but in terms of excitement there was nothing in Cage that I found particularly amazing whereas there were moments in the other shows that got me much more excited to see what would happen next.

Well... I started out loving the show, but even then I was a bit disappointed after his great start in the Jessica Jones series. By the last 3 or 4 episodes it just felt like a total slog, especially the final episode. That fight scene with Diamondback was laughably bad. It sucks because I have a feeling they won't bother giving this a second season with a better plot and writers. Hopefully Iron Fist is a good deal better than this was.
It's a real shame too, because I absolutely loved the entire tone and setting of this one, but it took a backseat to how boring of a story it was.

I just finished this. I agree it went on for too long and falls apart somewhat towards the end. I think Jessica Jones went on too long too. Luke seemed like a different character from what was set up in JJ.
